I posted this in a thread about it in the tonneau cover section but haven't received an answer, also made a thread over there about different covers with no replies couldn't find the answer Via search so can someone help me out. I want to get a cover soon but need some advice.

Does anyone have the X2T with a short bed (5 foot)? went to go look at some covers today and the salesman said Wasn't even sure if they came for the short bed tacoma he had to check his computer and then stated the short bed version will not stand up straight with the cover leaning on props covering the back window. And I would not have access to the full bed with the cover in the up right position. Like in this picture http://www.topperking.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/ford-f150-leer-trilogy-x2t-open.jpg But he wasn't 100% sure. Is he right? I feel like he was looking at a different cover. I really like the X2T

He also said it would be more of a pain in the ass to take off bc it doesn't stand up straight. and recommended the extang solid fold 2.0 the only thing i like about the extang is that it retains the factory rails. but it seems to be much more expensive than what I found the X2T for at a different store. It's about $150 more

    None yet just starting.
The X2T is a no drill, quick detach, and they say will stand against the rear window (what it says online and the leer factory outlet says). I have looked at a few since my Tacoma did not come with the factory one and the x2t seems to me like the best option. however I do not know yet if you have to remove the side rails to install this like the paragon accordion cover I was interested in. I am ordering it today and can update when it comes in.

Do a quick web search and you will also find that you are only supposed to do 55mph with the cover against the rear window.

Tried to order one from a local authorized dealer, they told me this is discontinued. The guy said they have issues with it.

I’m not sure if he’s yanking my chain to get me into a more profitable cover or not. Bummer, from the looks of it, I really liked the fit and finish.

I've got the X2T on my '18 Off Road DCSG and like it. Bed rails are NOT removed because the cover's panel clips mount directly to it. That being said, after only 2 months the gasket between the bulkhead section and the first folding panel has started to crack. My dealer submitted a warranty claim to LEER and they're going to replace the ENTIRE cover, but it's "on backorder" and won't be available for a month or more. I'm suspicious, and none too happy about the situation.

I actually called leer and the lady told me they’re coming out with a new trifold hard cover. She said it will be released in late summer. I asked what she meant by late summer and she said probably the end of September

Maybe that's why they're doing a full replacement on mine and I have to wait to get it. I just sent an email to my dealer and their Leer rep about this and will wait to hear back from them on Monday.

My source tells me that LEER has definitely discontinued the X2T. It will be replaced with a new model, the HF350, in September. He had no details or specs on the new cover yet, but that is what they'll be giving me when I return my X2T. I really hope that the new product is comparable, because I decided to buy the X2T for a couple for a couple of very specific reasons. If it's not then I'm going to get a refund and go with something else.

Has anybody else with this cover encountered this issue?

I found a dealer near me with some dead stock and was thinking about picking one up.

Ive had the Leer x2t for about a year now and noticed the same defect. The seal cracked on the ends of the cover on the first lid. Dealers taking care of it. Will be picking up my new one this Monday. Im not quite sure if they are replacing with the same model or if its going to be a upgraded cover. I was a bit disappointed especially spending that much money and not getting the quality product I was hoping to get.
