Tacoma Kicks Ass.....even without mods (well maybe with one or two)

First Tacoma I’ve ever owned and I love my 3rd gen OR DCSB. The only thing I’d change is the infotainment system. I want Apple CarPlay damnit!! Otherwise truck kicks ass. Just did an 1800mile road trip into AZ with my wife and the truck was fantastic.

 

I was in Missouri a few weeks ago for 3 days and only saw 1 Tacoma the entire time I was there, it was crazy. Considering I live in SoCal and every other vehicle on the road is a Tacoma or Toyota truck of some sort.

F150s are to Missouri what the Tacoma is to southern CA lol.

 

Damn...I'm really loving that Calvary Blue..I think that may be the color I go with..it that exclusive to one trim only?

 

Used to be Pro only. Now it will be available in other trims...

IMO, the most unique colors will those that started as an exclusive for the Pro models. Which in order of appearance are:

- Inferno (2015 Pro color, available to other trims).
- Cement (2017 Pro color, available to other trims).
- Cavalry Blue (2018 Pro color, will now be available to other trims).
- Voodoo Blue (available for ‘19 Pros only)

Quick Sand is also pretty unique IMO, although not a Pro only color.

 

I Think it is related to the compressor. When you make it warmer it stops running. Also when engine goes under load that is when it is more prone to whistle too it seems.

 

just hit the two month mark with my MT and loving it. About to take on its first extended road trip. Can't wait!

 

I’m at 5000 miles after getting the truck on June 9th and I couldn’t be happier. So much better than my 07 corolla lol

 

I know that there are threads already about this issue. Mine whistles just before it upshifts under medium to heavy acceleration. Usually when the A/C is working hard to cool me off. I don't think I would want anyone to tear into the dash if that is what the fix means, I hardly notice it.

 

If I could go back I would have gotten a Quicksand

The only color Id trade my Inferno for is Cav Blue 1st and Cement 2nd. Both of those were not available for TRD OR on ‘17 when I bought my truck.

 

I forgot about cement, it’s a great color.

 

I ❤️ mine too. In fact i don’t have problems with the way it shifts right now that I’m having a dilemma as to whether have the ecu update. Also loved how the stock off-road suspension rides.

 

Yeah man. I love my Inferno but that blue is awesome!

 

I had the ECU updated 3 weeks ago. I like it so much that I rarely use the SSP any longer. I switched the SSP to mode 3 and only use it when I really Drive “aggressively”.

 

Ssp? Is this some new feature?
