Good morning folks. Made a command decision yesterday at work. Originally was going to spend another week where I'm currently working doing a lot of little stuff, but after being in Quartzsite again yesterday I need to go up there and get roads done before the season starts. The deciding factor being people buy permits and should have as good a product that I can provide...at least to start the season. Where I'm working now is not a permit area, just a few folks fishing. So, by the end of the season there's wear and tear in the permit areas. I usually go up mid season and touch things up, but we're where we were with the roads at the end of last season. Not bad but not what I would expect and not how I want the season to start. The more time I spend there now, the less time I have to spend there later and there's nobody there now to get in the way.

Musta been ... I blanked out the 10 mins after the impact. Even had a recording of me reporting what happened into my op center and directing my controllers to call my 2nd (NCOIC) to cover my shift. To this day I don't recall making that call.

@RickS in your picture from the other day. What did you use to keep the bacon on the corn. I see tooth picks were used on the other items, but I don't see any on the corn.
@Cold Iron I see you used tooth picks.

I do mine a little different.
Husk on, after removing silk.
Soak in water to get husk wet. Wrap bacon in and fold husk back over and tie the end with string.
I wet it down during grilling with a brush.

 

Very hot here today. yardwork all day. got a pot of beans simmerin and country ham for supper
