    straight question for @OVTune then...

if someone has a previous version before 04B13, will 1.05 upgrade them to 04B13? or will it leave the previous file version and just take the maps (etc) like before? if you have 04B10, flash 1.05, will you then have 04B13 or a newly modified 04B10 based from 04B13's changes? is this clear?

    Bone stock for now.
@OVTune If 1.05 includes the latest TSB will it update the file name? If so how does that affect going to the dealer for routine maintenance and they do an update with out my knowledge? Another thing, I had my local dealer run my vin to see if my truck required the latest TSB and it does not and would not be covered under warranty if I wanted it done. Does this matter?

    Thank you

    Very exciting to hear!

Can't wait for the MT file. If all plays out like Matt is saying, 1.05 should be amazing! I am curious to see how 1.05 81 compares to 1.04 91 as I am on the later file currently.

1.05 87 octane is going to have to have some special @OVTune Williams magic in it because the new Toyota TSB 0058-18 seems to be every bit as good as the 1.04 87 tune if not better . For the regular gas user ,it seems as if Toyota had a team of engineers study Mat's tune and improve upon it for their own . It shifts smooth , uses the gears as they should be and is getting better mpg's and is , well , covered under warranty. I do not see Toyota competing with offering a 91 or 93 , or a Twin turbo tune or custom tune , though , so OVtune will still have a need especially if a truck is modified with larger tires and or gears etc. . It will be interesting to see if the newer 2018 Tacoma's or 2019's come with the same ECU as the TSB , and if the advertised MPG changes . Come on Mat , outdo them again !

You have me intrigued. I've been running premium since before the tune a year ago after testing all grades and several brands and on stock tune my truck ran better and smoother (less vibes and less noise) so I just landed on VPower. Then a few months ago I decided to see what OV had done w/ 87 and while it was better than 87 on stock tune I still got more of the exhaust resonance / vibes and the truck felt like it gained 1000lbs and was slower compared to running 93 on the 91 tune. I ran one tank of regular and flashed back to 91 and have been running 93 VPower ever since. Haven't drained the tank to try 87 on the new ECU calibration though...

I also hear about folks complaining that the chirping fuel pump issue has returned for many after they had it replaced, but all I've questioned are running regular. On my original HPFP it was noisy as hell on 87 but was quite a bit quieter when I had the 93 running through it - still chirped but it wasn't as obnoxious so I wonder if the additional detergents in the 93 may be helping there which also makes me concerned to go back to 87... decisions, decisions

Im not worried about shifting, as I have a manual. I have been curious about the TSB for the manuals and might give it a try before 1.05 is released, but I doubt it. I don't see any point in flashing the TSB a few weeks before 1.05.

I’m going to start running 93 also then flash to the 91. Been thinking about it for a bit. Reading this convinced me.

That boost file made me so wet. I've decided to hold off on my fox suspension for this turbo kit. Cant wait for this TSB flash talk to be over so we can talk about the real issue at hand....Turbos :headbang:

I see your point of course, but in my case I wanted to get rid of 04B10 underlying code. Mat's tunes don't change every byte of code. I didn't want to take any chances. Not one byte of 04B10. Make that bit.

His tune incorporates the update. PLUS his new work to fix the rest of this hot mess.

this is why i posted the code base question in the update thread. if the previous ov files couldn't fix the 04B10 problem, then I'm sticking with a formal code base update, aka going from my previous to 04B13 via Techstream and the .cuw file. then, ov magic on top. seems you're the only one with this, Frank.
