I painted mine without removing any tabs. Pulled the grille and surround out of the truck and used lots of tape.

I did change my grille later without breaking any, tho I did bend one a little.

I tried to be very careful but I broke a few. CHEAP plastic is what it is. I think the whole truck is plastic.

Holy Hell! Why do I always think they will stay small. :D I love that second pic with the eyes wide open. Aw hell, who am I kidding. I love them all.

Thanks Doug! Can't wait to show the wife! Man, what a beautiful dog! You're so lucky.

Our neighbor brought her newest pup up to meet us the other day. Another Rottie. Makes #5. Zander. We tried to give him biscuits but his teeth are too young still. Belly rubs were enough.

I posted this pic in the "what have you done to your Gen III today" a couple of days ago. I wanted a grill/brush guard, have put them on every truck I've ever owned. I know they won't protect from a deer, and could even possibly exaccerbate the amount of damage in some collision scenarios, but I do think they protect from certain front parking lot dings, and I drive my truck on some property I own that has high grass and brush that wants to whip against the front and scuff it a bit. And I just like the way some of them look.

I bought the truck in June of '17, but none of the guards that I was able to look at appealed to me, so I forgot about it for a while. Recently I spotted the Westin and liked it, so decided to have it installed. I'm pretty pleased with it, but it adds 5-6" of extra length to the front of an already long truck (DCLB). But so far so good.
