That's a whole lotta work to get the correct mileage. I'd just throw a working cluster in it and sell it with 00000000 on the title like everybody else does. If anybody gives you trouble, the original odo was fried - just don't mention you fried it with a soldering iron.

I don’t mind the work. The point I bought this truck is to restore it back to what it used to be like when it was brand new.

I just bought a set of St Maxx hoping they'll do as well as the KO2s have as my last two sets. Just wanted something different this time and wanted to try a skinny 33", which as we know comes in very limited options. I hear good things though so I'm hopeful.

I dont know what my next tire will be, but my KO2s have been good to me so far. Im hoping to regear and go up to a 34" tire tho.

They get a lot of love and hate on here lol. I've had 2 sets now and wasn't kind to either one and never had any issues with getting a flat or having to use my spare, and very few issues with traction. Didn't find them to be great in mud but that's about it, and we hardly get that here in CA anyway. Probably has more to do with me as a driver since I hardly ever wheel in mud.

My only gripe with my K02s has been how easily they get 'chunked' up....my current set look like a bear went to town on them in some spots. But I don't know if that's just normal for any tire that sees a lot of rocks and dirt so I can't really hold it against them exclusively. Just the only tire I've really run on my truck.

Finally gonna do my lower ball joints, are they the same from 95 to 04? I'm seeing some different part numbers on Camelback's site depending on year selected.

My guess is partly do to the siping. Had no idea people siped off road tires let alone come siped from the factory. I'm kind of curious how the KO2s will do in the rain. I've driven through a bit of wet roads & they seem to be better than KOs in the wet. KOs suck in the rain but really I'm not concerned if the KO2s do well in the rain or not since we don't get much of it here anyway.

Here are he part numbers gunny gave me when I ordered from Camelback in January. These were the boltless LBJs, hence the 8 bolts. It was everything I needed for LBJs on my prerunner

    43330-39556
    43340-39436
    90119-10933 x8, bolts for lbj

At ~235k mi, and the oil seeping from the valve cover finally got me to replace the gaskets there.
Took the time to brush off all the oxidation+grime from the covers and intake manifold and other bits.

Finally got rid of that disgusting and disintegrating engine insulator. The shit flaked off into a powder when I touched it.

    Such a big difference.

I don't really drive the '98 5-lug at all, it's just a project sitting in my driveway. I haven't tested the noise difference yet.

My PreRunner is also a '98 and didn't come with that isolator from the factory.
