Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Truck at dealership. Full OME and new cab bushings will be installed during swap. Given 2018 crewmax tundra off road to drive. Met mechanic who will do the work. Pretty sure truck is in good hands. Will update as it progresses.

Do you mean holes from rust?

My frame was getting rust spots but I sprayed paint over it bc I didn't want the frame to rust.
It's barely a 3 year old truck and this was happening

Another thing, my frame is making contact with the body for some reason.
I'm not sure why but it's where the front body mount is at.
Same location where other do a frame chop for 33" and higher.

So I'm not sure what to do at this point..

Yes. Holes from rust . If the frame is contacting the body it could be your frame is rotted in that area and the cab mount bushing pushed down into the frame . Get under it with a hammer and start tapping around . Up front where the cats are is usually a bad spot .

Had my 06 in 3 weeks ago for the inspection. Has a hole about 8 inches by 3 inches. Dealer says it needs a frame. I have called twice and stopped in once to find out if it's approved. Dealer says they haven't heard anything yet. Any body on here have an idea how long it takes to be approved? Thanks in advance

Something seems off... it took me 4 days for approval, and that's just because the dealer had to redo the photos resubmit them to Toyota HQ - I guess the first photos were of insufficient quality. 3 weeks sounds definitely off - like they forgot to submit the photos and paperwork to Toyota. I'd get on 'em, or find a new dealer.

That's how mine went - dropped it off on April 26th, picked it up on July 11th.

Makes me nervous. My in service date is August 23 2006. My 12 year dead line for the recall is next week. I just wonder if they are putting me off to deny my claim

If you got it in on time, and they told you you would get a new frame, you will get a new frame. I don't think they can just 'put you off' at this stage of the game. I'd rattle their cage again soon, and if no satisfaction, call Toyota customer service.

Mine took 45 min. Yours may be to old. You have/had 12 years from in service date. Maybe they are trying to push it through :notsure:

Are you driving your truck? If you are press them for a answer and a loaner as that hole is significant and should not be in service.

Toyota sent a letter saying I was included in the recall. The dealership has been nothing but nice to me and I would recommend them to anyone but 3 weeks seems like a long time to be approved. The campaign just started up here in Canada again on July 21. Maybe a huge backlog? You would think the would have their ducks in a row by now lol

They told me the truck was fine to drive. I'm a collision repairman. I think it is safe but they won't give me a disclaimer saying that they are liable if anything happens

small little lift, with little nice tires, and poorly plasti dipped badges.
Look your trucks over after they are done with the frame spray. My entire truck was covered in overspray and they have yet been able to get it all off. Truck is white so its really noticeable. If you see any over spray you need to have them get on it asap. The longer you wait harder it is.

I thought the CRC campaign was discontinued. It doesn’t work. Mine was CRCed two years before the hole and subsequent frame swap.

My truck was inspected and undercoated 2 years ago. The campaign started again't July 21 here in canada. My frame failed miserably. Lucky for me I qualify for a new frame if they would just approve it lol

Got my multipoint inspection report from dealer via email today...I knew this would likely happen. Yep, my truck is 12 years old and some stuff is wearing out. Here is the total they quoted for the services needed...
    nothanks.jpg

Politely declined all services aside from frame, OME parts install and cab bushing install. $289 to change plugs? $410 to put a new blower motor in? Uhhh...no. I feel sorry for people who can't work on their own stuff.

Huh? This campaign isn’t for the dealerships to make more money off of customers. It’s in place to get unsafe frames replaced. There seems to be a huge inconsistency in what is included in a frame swap. I wasn’t handed any kind of inspection form that suggested that I needed to spend money on anything.

Talked to the dealership yesterday. My 06 is approved finally. They are expecting the frames to be in by the end of September. I felt like a kid at Christmas lol
