Hi guys, just jumping in to say hi, getting ready for my second season bow hunting,
The cwd is not as widespread in my area of VA(northern western) but not terribly far over the mountain it is very prevalent.
Any who,got some of my trails cleared today and stands double checked.
Lots of good pics off the camera too!

I'll look into it! Also been wanting to hit public lands in Ohio and Kentucky.
I listened to JRE almost everyday, and this one really caught my attention. Crazy thing was after I had finished this episode, MI DNR had passed new laws for next year stating there is no more baiting allowed statewide because of CWD. Had I not listened to this podcast I probably would have been a little upset, but I'm totally fine with it.
Yes! Steve Rinella also has his own podcast, check it out!

I love his show. You get a little of everything and that fact he's a hunter is a bonus. I love the episodes when he has Cameron Hanes or John Dudley on or any other hunter like that.

Yeah, I heard about that new law. I'm not sure how not using bait is going to help fight CWD though. Am I missing something?

They need to focus on getting rid of the animals that have it and also disposing of the bodies correctly. The use of clay lined pits seems to be promising.

Because it congregates the animals in close proximity. Mingling of saliva, more animals urninating and pooping in close quarters. Easier for the prions to spread.

Banning baiting is a start. Closing the deer farms down would go a long way, at least here in PA.

^THIS. I think in the JRE podcast, they gave a good analogy. They said deer with CWD going to a bait pile around other deer, was like bringing a sick child to a daycare.

Since some talk about wraps and such got me thinking, I thought I would try a
    CG Test.

The mark on the left is right from the store.
The center mark is painted 8” section just before the fletching.
Right mark is a 8” wrap. (Actually duct tape lol) same place.
Total rear CG change is about 3/4 of an inch between all three.
Just thought someone might be interested on the effect of adding something to their arrow.

the Grandfather of a co worker owns land and keeps it very private to hunting.
He is going to try to get me permission to bow hunt his area.
The co worker wants to come with me and just sit in his stand ( 2 person )and take pics and vids if something comes up.
I didn’t ask. He offered to try and talk to his grandfather.
I thought that was very nice of him.
