2018 whine...

I'm whining cause I hear a whine on my '18 DCSB MT (stock truck) in 5th gear, 55-58 mph @ 2200ish rpm. I know this is very specific but its kinda premature for a truck with only 1800 miles. No leaks on rear diff or anything? Anyone else have this issue?

There is a TSB for the Rear End Howling, they replace the Rear springs and add some sound deadening material if memory serves me

 

I have the same truck you do, the TSB doesn't cover our truck. I took it in and tried to talk them into doing mine since it has the sound, no go.

 

Usually the tsb applies if you have the symptoms, not because your truck is on a list

 

If your truck isn't listed on the TSB there is no way your going to get this done. The dealer won't get paid for the work.

To the OP, still go in and complain of the issue and see what the dealer can do. They would probably open a TAS case to see what available option there are.

 

18s are now included in the tsb. I posted the tsb in the diff whine thread. Mine does it too. Was also a quart low on oil.

 

Low on oil? Wow. But the pre-delivery inspection says they topped all fluids. Maybe they pencil-whipped these checks.
