Wow @eon_blue I looked up all the other popular banana things on Urban dictionary and they're all very graphic and exceedingly gay. Who'd have known

Has anyone actually done any air intake temperature studies? I'm betting no difference would be found having a snorkel or not.

I think you would see even cooler then that to be honest. In my old 91 I mounted a thermometer in it with the sensor down in the driver's side fender and I'd have to be going about 45-50mph for it to not be effected by engine air temp. It would rise quite a bit and slow speeds and at idle. Which if you are doing a snorkel it's for offroading and slow speed/ dusty stuff. I think they have their uses.

I bet you're right, at least on a 4cyl. Shit gets hot running over the exhaust side. Meth is the only reason things stay sane with the SC

Ok. I'll check mine with no snorkel. Can someone check their temps that has a snorkel?

Our factory air boxes are already cool air intakes, so I'm betting not much difference will be seen.

As far as I can tell, the only advantage to a snorkel is to have access to cleaner, less dusty air. Even that would be marginal at best.

Just seems a shame to cut holes in a perfectly good fender for such little gain. Plus they don't give those things away.

You need 10 samples from before and after and average it for better data

I don't know, there's not much left that's perfectly good on my truck anymore but that is my only clean fender.
