I am a new member to tacomaworld.com but I have already seen several threads where people are just downright nasty to one another. It's all super petty stuff too like they just want to be mean and put down other taco owners for some reason. Regardless this forum needs people to post content, that's what op was doing. Jumping all over him is counterproductive. If it's a shit post then let the mods sort it out.

It wasn't always this bad. But with Toyota selling 20k a month, there's lots of new users on here... The current social media way to communicate with people online is through nasty comments unfortunately. Can't go to any site with comments without seeing it, too bad really.

From what I have seen on the forum, people can't control making comments about things they don't like instead of just moving on to the topics that are important/interesting to them - which leads to pissing matches in most cases. I don't understand the need to comment about how something is "worthless". All this does it lead to these conversations and promote the "worthless" topic to the top of the forums, often adding to the "garbage" that the complaints are about in the first place. (I use quotes, cause I don't personally think any topic falls into these categories and if I happen to not care, I just ignore them and move onto the ones I do care about).

Really, if people didn't want something like this topic, why comment and bring it back to the top of the forum?

Everyone needs to get their opinion in. It's the current way the world turns. I'm not on any social media platform. But I witness it constantly. My niece and nephew don't need to hang out with their friends anymore. They sit at home and communicate through the phone. Just last week at the lake, I watched two girls go to the beach, take pictures if themselves with the backdrop of the lake, then they left. No intention of enjoying it, just needed to create the illusion of having fun. Not for me to criticize, but it's just my observation. I'm not that old either, lol.

    OP,

To me that is just a big red flag in front of the dealership. Stating to the potential customers “buyer beware, unscrupulous dealer here”.

If I see that at a dealer, I wont even waste my time trying to make a deal with them on ANY vehicle.

    Good find!

    THIS!!!!

I’ve been involved on dozens of different online automotive communities and this is, by far, the worst one in regards to bashing and just being rude for no reason. Which is too bad, because there is a ton of information here.

Also, it is shitty if the dealership because it’s not enthusiasts like us who get screwed here, it’s typically older or less tech savvy people who are taken advantage of in these situations.

Not sure this is true... in my opinion, there have been many more posts started by young adults (<30 years old probably) than olds about how they are overextended in their payments and then come to find out they got rooked by the dealership on price, financing but often both.

edit: my research might be biased though as the olds may also be less tech savvy and won't know how to start a thread. Further study is needed. If anyone sees an old with pro wheels, please add the date and coordinates to the database.

Because they are not on this forum complaining. Hence, “less tech savvy”.

Had a dealer here with a lift and tire package for an extra 8k on a non 4x4 off-road. Been sitting on the lot for months. :notsure:

Try owning a Subaru. That forum was worse than this one by a country mile. On top of that, there was barely anyone to offer help. Sometimes you have to put on your big boy pants and sort through the bad posts on here, but there's mounds of helpful people and information on here.
