Yea edited mine for the phone number. I believe the 58-18 rev1 is for our 18s auto and manuals, 62 I think is for 16/17 autos.

Thanks for the heads up! I see the Toyota Owner app pinged me for the blower motor as well. And now I know the app works in regards to recalls! lol

Did you watch them plug in and see the display screen? Sounds like your dealers is bullshitting you. "Not for the 18's" and "Seems to only apply", then wasn't sure about the 18's. Manual tranny part number doesn't have anything to do with it.

I couldn't believe my dealer let me go back in the shop to watch. Otherwise I wouldn't have believed them.

Don't be so hard on yourself just take it to another dealer. The TSB's clearly states for 17/18's MT/Auto

Which tsb CLEARLY states it? 0058-18 only had auto trans, which is why they gave me the runaround, I tried going into the shop but they wouldn't let me..

Not having the needed equipment to update, how can one tell what is loaded to ecu?

This one. Like you said it lists for auto but applies to MT also. I don't know why they didn't do it.

That's the problem. There are errors in the TSB compared to what is actually in the data.

You can use the OBD Fusion app and an OBDII adapter to get your ECU ID. @MOC221_ posted the steps in this thread. The Torque app doesn't seem to do that.

Until they actually include the words "Manual Transmission" most people are going to miss the calibration ID related to the manual. The whole thing is worded for an automatic. Even in the header.

Flashed 2 minutes after my cable arrived :)

VMWare fusion running Windows 7 for those asking about running from a VM (virtual machine). Just need to plug in the tactrix first and pass through the USB device.

I don't have an old computer, does the techstream listed by OVT work with win10?

The TS version that @mstrbrc linked in Post 571 to obdii365.com loaded on our old laptop running Win10 without a problem. His cable just arrived in my mailbox and I will be test driving it as soon as I get home.

I have it installed on Win10, and it appears to be working just fine. I haven't attempted the upgrade yet, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

Program runs, Tactrix cable drivers installed, and I can connect to the truck.

Didn't realize how afraid I was of shifting into second, especially with hills and rolling stops.

So you're saying that we can relax a bit from concentrating on shifts? Being able to phone in a few, esp in the lower gears, would be nice.

This is the confusion - the verbiage states it's for AT, but the calibrations listed are for both. It's a poorly written TSB, as the Section, Applicability and Introduction all list automatics only - it should include manual transmissions as well.

Yeah second and fourth are completely different. I found second to be on immediately and stay on through the range for the most part. The clutch catch is very different too, not nearly as much vagueness in transitioning to throttle.

    Awesome.

I want to dash home, but the Taco got called into a bit of hauling duty.
