Just do the left side. Then take it out for a spin. decide if you still want to do the right side. :anonymous:

I did my front first. Ext travel Kings, TC UCAs, the back is still sporting my stock leafs and 5100s.

Let's hope I'm done with having anything to do with my leaf springs for several more years, then we'll revisit this lol

wait I thought you were already into doing the leafs?

I would do the rear first that way if you have to wait awhile until you do the front, you aren't left with bro lean.

The people who have a LT SUA setup with a caged rear end, but still try and keep their bed = lolz

Just take off the 3 square feet of bed sheet metal you still have, and stop pretending you're going to use the truck to haul gravel anymore.

I was just changing the bushings outside the truck. How long do you think the rear will take me?

Oh, and how exactly should I jack the truck up to do the leafs? By the frame? I usually jack by the axle gear pumpkin.

I had them rebuilt. I have no idea what height the shop put the sleeve at, however.

I did front first, but I didnt do ucas so it was easy breezy. Rear took 2 days since everything was rusty and needed to be cut. When I did my extra leafs it took 4 hours start to finish with a 30 min lunch break. Ill probably do them a third time to install greaseable bushings and axle shims though. Not looking forward to that day. But these squeaks are getting on my nerves.

Jack up like normal then support with stand on the frame.

The undo the u bolts and support the axel with stands, after that you can remove the leafs

Didn't it take you like 3 weeks for the bushings? At this rate, you might be collecting social security by the time you're done...

Jack the truck up on the pumpkin, then take the wheels off, and hopefully you have big enough jack stands to reach the frame. Harbor Freight has 6 and 12 tons one for pretty cheap. My 6 tons were like $50 for the pair.

I put jack stands on the frame toward the rear and used the floor jack under the pumpkin to move the rear axle up/down (with small 3 ton floor jacks under the axle but not touching it just in case the jack gave out or something).

yeah but that would suck to have to adjust them just to get level then do it again lol

My truck has spent its life 30 minutes from the factory it was built at in Fremont, California - so I don't really have to worry about rust. Think I'll do the front first, the concrete is too hot don't want to get under the truck till it cools down.
