Warm up the milk and eggs before you mix them in. Vanilla is a nice addition if you don't have nutmeg.

Our old GE gas dryer died today. I bought it, used, when I moved to the area a little over 18 years ago! It was old when I got it and I'd guess it's about 25 years old now. Sumbitch was a tank and just kept on going. No circuit boards, fancy electronics or cheap plastic parts.

I briefly thought about repairing it but my GF has been wanting something with a bigger capacity, so we went out and bought the most logical replacement for it - Speed Queen! No circuit boards, fancy electronics or cheap plastic parts. Plain looking, not cheap but rock solid commercial use construction, made in the USA. Arriving on Wednesday...

My parents bought the fancy electronic front loaders a few years ago from Sears. Luckily, against my advice, they bought an extended warranty. Holy cow what hell they went through with both the washer and dryer. To the point I was calling/emailing the president of Sears. I've heard so many horror stories first hand about both the electronics of the new machines and the issues with mold/mildew on front loaders. No thanks.

There was a pair in a vacation rental we had a few weeks ago, it was like Vegas slot machine with all the lights, buttons, knobs and chimes! It would finish a load and the damn thing would sing a song of victory.

Yea, I hear ya. My next ones will only be mechanical! Ours has that sensor shit. It senses the clothes and only adds enough water. Bull - Shit!. We just set it to max fill. Otherwise I have a better chance of cleaning them with a freakin' spray bottle. Such a joke. It's always off kilter. Then lol, you have to go down and "pause" it. Wait, wait, wait, wait some more, more waiting, then you can open the lid and fix the load. And don't even try to fool it with a paper clip in the lid closed hole thing. No, now it is a magnet switch. Guess some moron fell in a wash one day and drowned. Ruined it for all of us!

Don't even get me started on the dryer. Bout the only thing good about them is the insides are SS. Oh, and I can shut off the buzzers.

You don't look to be to far from the Real Ale brewery in Blanco. A little off the beaten path but good stuff. Then you're right there in Hill/Wine Country.
