I hear ya...the T-SB does call out the tranny part number in there...A60somethingsomething. I didn't go see the screen, but the service guy said "I wish I could install it, because I would get paid. We get paid an hour labor from toyota, and it only takes a few minutes of no real effort on our part." (I'm paraphrasing.)

Also, he checked the technician boards and computer and found no way to eliminate or customize chimes...door-open-key, MT reverse gear, and pass seatbelts chimes make me want to clean my ears with a soldering iron. I might just remove the speaker/tone module...if I can find it.

I might try another dealer on the T-SB to see if I get the same story.

I will likely be heading to San Diego at some point in the relatively near future... just nothing positive yet. If you are still in need when this happens, I could bring everything with me and we could arrange to meet up

I can confirm all these posts. You can drive this truck mostly instinctively now. No lurching, no concentration needed and the pedal response is much more linear.

I'm in Socal (IE) and have a tactrix cable from my OV tune. People can use it for free if they want to meet up. Not sure how to do the install as I never done on my truck yet. So I couldn't really lend much knowledge on the process, also not responsible for any damage (disclaimer).

The speaker is on the back side of the instrument cluster.

Carista can turn off the seat belt chimes. There is one setting for the driver and one for the passenger. It was said that TS can turn off the seat belt chime. The key in chime may or may not be turned off in TS. I'm going hunting for that rabbit.

Sweet. If the dealer in Palm Springs doesn’t do it when I go in for my 10k, I’ll hit you up. Thanks.

I am really excited for everyone getting this done, sounds like driveability is so much better.

I'm in the High Desert and was thinking of hitting up Palms Springs Toyota for the update. Let Me know if it works for them to do it.

I have the cable, and I work in Scottsdale, if you want to meet on my lunch break sometime so you can do it. And if it is next week, I am expecting I'll have experience doing the update too, since I'm going into my appointment tomorrow with the expectation they will not do it.

Just got back from getting my 10K service on my '17 TRD Sport 4X4 6 speed manual. I eliminate two problems that "us" pedal guys have been experiencing, stumble between 2nd and 3rd gear shift between 1500 and 2500 rpms when engine is cold, and the clutch pedal squeak. I asked the Service Advisor to check his TSBs about the stumble. He wrote my issue up along with the clutch squeak for the Tech to check.

Solutions indicated, TSB said my Engine ECU Calibration was outdated. Reprogrammed ECU, Operation TC1601. Also Clutch Bushing needed to be greased.

Results, Truck accelerates much quicker, no more engine stumble between 2nd and 3rd gear shift, and clutch no longer squeaks. Truck performs totally different.....so I hope this new tread "cuts to the chase" for other with this problem! Kudos to Koons Toyota of Annapolis. Great place to buy and have my Tacoma serviced!

Dang, been in twice now for clutch squeak and boingy spring sound, both times "could not replicate". Third time's a charm I guess...

Perfect, I live in Scottsdale. I'd feel guilty taking up your lunch break though

I already have the OV tune and now after the Toyota updated I won't be loading OV. It will be interesting how much he can improve on it when he releases 1.05. If I had know this was coming 8 months ago when I bought my '18 I would have never purchased the OV tune. I guess what I'm looking for in the 1.05 is even a more torque down low with an increase in fuel economy.
