Utah is a perfect example of what happens when you don't separate church and state...

Any beer over 3.5% is considered hard liquor and bartenders must make drinks behind a partition! I know all about Utah!

 

Like I said, I know all about the Mormon State...

 

And do not even get me started on dry counties!

 

They got rid of the partition! In exchange for the DUI limit to go to .05. Thankfully it is 3.5 by weight aka 4.0 ABV. Makes it a little better.

Yeah, the church and state thing is a little sideways, but I am hesitant to denounce it, because it has led to a culture where people take care of their stuff generally, and the legislature funds upkeep better than any other state I have lived in.

 

Plenty of places still have the Zion Curtain though!!

I'll be curious to see what the .05 BAC threshold does to police/court resources though with extra arrests, bookings, proceedings, etc.

 

I was hit by a recidivist drunk driver in my Tacoma one time, and I don't agree with the .05% BAC limit!

I think the solution is to make the penalties for driving drunk with a BAC of .08% or more far more severe, not ruin the lives of people who otherwise wouldn't have gotten a DUI.

I'm sure at least one of one has heard of a Utah State Trooper by the name of Lisa Steed?!?!

One of my coworkers bought a used 2014 Jetta SE about a month ago, and as of right now the car has a little over 42K miles on it...

Today, she made a liquor run and parked the car in the alley out front, The car was running fine, but 10-20 minutes minutes later it wouldn't start. All it would do was make a clicking noise.

I attempted to jumpstart the Jetta with my jumper cables, but to no avail...



Luckily the car is under warranty and we are waiting for the dealer to send a flatbed to pick it up!

Very odd that you were unable to jump it, keep us updated on what the problem was

 

My jumper cables were the problem! They came from an emergency kit that I bought at Bon-Ton of all places almost 4 years ago. They're too thin. The tow truck driver got the car started on the first try...

 

At least you found out in a non emergency
