I’m from VA too man. These bears are getting bad. I have at least 7 different bears where I hunt. Good pics though. If you ever wanna shoot bows let me know. I’m in Winchester.

I have a really small spot in Warrenton in a neighborhood and I’ve seen 2 300 lb plus bears during the summer. Never during the fall though. Lol.

I’ll post up a few pics a little bit. I’ll show some bear and deer pics this year. No big bucks yet though.

These are a few pics from this year. No big bucks, but you just never know what can happen during the rut!

Check out this pic from 2012. It’s on 10 acres in a neighborhood basically. Never seen anything this big before or after this guy. I missed him on Nov 2nd of that year. I hit a limb as the arrow was heading his way. I never saw it unfortunately. This is a giant for VA though. No doubt about it.

I remember that day like it was yesterday. I know you should never take a frontal shot on a deer, but I should’ve that day. I had him at 30 yards perfect front shot with my bow drawn and I waited until he walked away. It made me so sick to hit that branch or whatever it was.

He snuck in behind me and was standing broadside at 20 yards when I first saw him. I hope I get a chance at a buck that big one day. It haunts me!!!

Watched this guy for about twenty minutes the beginning of November 2016. Between 30-40 yards. Just wouldn't get into position for a shot. Never forget the image of him standing on the edge of a ridge, sun on his back, see his breath in the frosty morning air, all the leaves red, yellow and orange.

Have you had many good pics this year?

I have taken the frontal shot. It was coming up the hill at me. Shot right through the base of the neck through the heart and out through the leg and he snapped off the front part of my arrow in the short distance he tried to run. Which goes back to my story a few days ago of the aluminok being inside the deer and I couldn’t see it, not that I needed to because he only fell like 30 yards from me!:D

Oh believe me... If I’m ever in that position again I will do it. I had the opportunity and should have just done it. I’ve never seen a buck that big in person before and I regret my decision ALL the time. It’s amazing how one encounter can stay with you so long. That was six years ago and I feel like it happened yesterday.

Anybody that questions the lethality of a frontal shot needs to watch this. It can be devastating. With that said, even on an elk, it's a small target, size of a softball or so.
