FYI Everyone, when you go in for the service at your local stealership, make sure you describe the lag of power when going between 40-60mph. Don't bring up high altitude or any other crap.
If they give you grief for modifying the truck the way you want, I would go somewhere else. Tell them to eat crayons and suck it.

Way cool! Thanks for the info. Do you know if any OBD software or device will tell you if it was done or not?

I was going to buy the Scan Gauge II but then a friend showed me this App for Android. It's called Torque. I have a Samsung Tablet just sitting around at home so I am going to install it in the truck to use with this App to monitor the things I would with that Scan Gauge II device. I wonder if that App will let me know if they did the TSB?????????

Got some homework to do. LOL

Yea, that is why I called, each of the 15 times I was put on hold I said the same thing.... "I am calling because I want to find out if you are doing this TSB or do I need to go to another dealership to get it done?"

    Rob,
I bet it would, I just clicked on “vehicle info” on my little cheap OBD reader and it gave me the Calibration ID number (which is 8966304B0400).
I googled that Torque app and it looks awesome, much more sophisticated than my little OBD reader.

    Thanks Kreg. Great info.

Yea, I was set to get the Scan Gauge II but since my tablet is sitting at home collecting dust I might as well put it to use. I can pick up a tablet holder that bolts to the passenger seat mount and have it right there next to the shifter.

I mean, it is basically just an over sized smart phone. But since it's a 12" Note Pro I can use the stylus and installed apps to make notes, create check lists to help prepare for adventures, and download maps for GPS to use later in areas without cell service, etc, etc. My buddy uses the Torque app and turned me on to it. I think he has about 20 bucks invested with the dongle.

I'm gonna try to get it all hooked up before my 20k miles service (I'm at 17k ish now). I want to be sure the dealer doesn't dick me over.

Can you give us a little more details for those of us in Canada wanting to get this done? What year is your truck and what TSB# did they apply? Also which dealership did you use?

    Thanks!

I was in for service today for our Highlander and just brought in a paper copy of the 0062-18 TSB. Told them I wanted to do it and I was having the issue described in the document. Service manager said they would bring it in and check the latest version of the ECU and apply this update if it was out of date. Since I already know it is (I have an Ancel OBDII reader), I should be good to go. Appointment isn't until Aug.29th, but I can update again after it's complete.

Yeah thats what I understand as well. I just picked up a 2018 Limited and it has all the shift problems that these trucks are known for. I hope the applicable US 2018 TSB makes it way up here soon.

Same. Although I haven’t been super disappointed with how it runs now, after hearing of the update for the US and how much better they are, I really would like to get this update.

For those asking about fuel mileage after the update.... I filled up tonight with 87 octane (no ethanol blend) and drove 140 mile round trip. I would say I'm a 1/2"-3/4" throttle when getting up to speed, coasted down the hills and build a little speed (5-7mph) and carry into the next hill. 60mph and 70mph speed limits unless driving through towns. No cruise control. I pulled over for a soda on the way back, so only a 57.1 return leg showing on the display.

Is there a difference between the ECU and ECM? I see your updates have one of each.

Why are there 2 calibration ID's for 58-18?

Agreed. To someone at sea level, driving up 2000' is "high elevation". For those at 1900', 5000' is "high elevation".
