I don't like it. I saw your trailer last year, and I think you'd lose a LOT of functional storage space if you can't access the bed of the trailer easily. I'd still sit it at least a 12-18" up just to give you clearance to actually get stuff out.

On some lift struts, I like it. Or something like a hand crank jack to lift the whole assembly up when at camp, but let you drive around with it all the way down to reduce air resistance/let you leave loose stuff in.

(Skip to the end for short story) So guys I have a story for ya! So I was at my local dandy and I left reasonable room for people to walk between my truck and the car in front of me at the pump, might have been a little tighter the people just didn’t pull all the way through like they should have, anyways. This other guy (well nickname him the “actor”) pulls to the pumps opposite of mine his son waits by the pumps as the actor walks in between my truck and the car to pay and I hear the actor say something about my steel bumper. (Being a mobtown bumper with a bull bar I like people noticing it)....well the car leaves, and the actor comes out from paying and I keep seeing him eye the bumper. So I give a polite smile to say “let’s talk about my truck”...well the actor starts off saying “you know it’s illegal to have anything sticking past the front of the truck over three inches. (Measures distance with hands from grille to bull bar) does this look like 3 inches to you?” I’m kinda taken back by this made up law and raise an eyebrow and say “oh? Umm I don’t really care” Actor then proceeds to ask where it was inspected because they should be fined because it’s completely illegal. I tell him I put it on after inspection.

Actor: oh so It’s your fault!
    Me: for what exactly?
Actor: I hit my elbow off your bumper and it really hurt..
    Me: oh I’m sorry..:notsure:
Actor: not trying to be THAT asshole but that shit really bugs me and you shouldn’t have that sticking out so far cuz it’s illegal. It does my elbow really hurts from hitting it. And I might need concern for it...
I kinda figure out this guys almost making it seem like he’s gonna sue me for not looking where he’s walking. So as he continues to talk I get in and just drive away hopefully never to run into him again

    Short story
Guy at dandy purposely walked into my bumper “hurt” his elbow on my “illegal” steel bumper.. had to oversell how much it hurt, Woulda felt bad for him IF I didn’t see him eyeing it before he walked past/into it.
    Congratulations you played yourself..

:facepalm:I hate people. I have a 'merica sticker on my tailgate. Few weeks ago I had a guy stop me and start freaking out because it's spelled America not 'merica. He was an older guy I'm thinking he may have been a vet. I was at tractor supply with my dog. I just kept saying ok and went into the store. But by the time I was ready to leave I was pretty pissed about it.

He just doesn't know the joke. Be glad he didn't scratch up your truck! I always watch people leave the lot when they get stupid so they don't cause mischief.

I like how he was implying he would sue you for something that is A: not illegal, and B: him being a clumsy oaf.

I would have to look into this “ 3 inch rule” . By his figuring is the grill is then front of your truck every Jeep every produced is illegal.
Note: if I am understanding they way you explained.

No measurement specified, but...says may not protrude past body line, or longer than original equipment. Either way, guy was an asshole.
