I did not break anything. I was simply acquiring an engine hoist to pull my 2006 Outback’s motor to be resealed.

He was there for a wheel speed sensor I think.

Wondering what everyone thinks about price, and how many miles is too much when buying a used car. Wife saw this and loves it because it's fully loaded.

 

If only you were closer, Alex.. I'd ask you to do my gauge swap that's been sitting around for months.

I think that is a fair price for the year and mileage. Looks like a really nice vehicle, to me.

Yeah, that 3rd row is really roomy. My "gripe" with it is that it already has 40k miles. For some reason I always had a thought that anything with that many miles on it wouldn't be worth buying. Can't really explain why, but I just do.

Meh. Not sure how that would work I'd still need to drive the truck.

How much more do you think she would be putting on it per year?
I bought mine with 34K. It now has 73K.

 

I bought one truck with 55k miles in 2013 and has a little over 150k now, the other one I bought last year with 219k miles and has 225k now

 

Hmmm.. Tempting. My biggest "fear" is the needles.

Not many. She really only drives to and from work, grocery store, and here and there. And occasional long trip to WV to go see her brother. We bought her car that's an 08 with 21k miles, in 2010. It's about to hit 99k, and it's been to and from WV a bunch of times.

I see... I guess it's just a "phobia" of mine then, about the miles.

I think we're gonna go in tomorrow and say if they give it to us for what they said the lowest they could go on the other is, we have a deal. Asking price on this one is only 1k more. Can't go in today because we're going to Lake Coumpouce (spelling ???) with a friend of ours for his wife's work picnic.

Motors are meant to be used to some extent higher use motors get less wear and tear than the “ultra low mile” motors because everything stays oiled and lubbed better and less overall condescension in the system. Modern machining and manufacturing all brand have should make an engine last to 200k with proper maintenance. If that gets you 7-10 years at your driving style that would be right before all the rubber components really start needing love due to age. 40 in 3 years is much easier on the motors than 2-6k in three years.... as long as proper intervals have been done
