Yep! Towed my trailer all the way up to 8800' last year for hunting. No problems at all! 16 foot Scamp in at 1900 lbs. dry weight. Hope that helps? Going again with the "1.05" tune? in late September for another hunting trip?

Even though there's no concrete info yet about what the US Ranger Raptor will have, if it isnt a diesel then I feel a bit more comfortable betting on some form of a v6 for the RR, because otherwise it has zero hope of selling and being worth the money. As it is, you can bet it'll run more than the Taco Pro and ZR2 fully optioned out. I read in another forum that someone in New Zealand commented on the pricing and it equalled out to roughly 48-50k USD. That's a whole lot of money and so if Ford hopes to keep that pricing here in the US, it simply won't work out with an I4 over a v6 imo

 

Unless the US Ranger Raptor has a different frame than the rest of the world it's not wide enough for a V6. Their 2.7ecoboost would have been awesome. But Since the 2.3 is a turbo, it can produce as much power as you'd like. In the focus RS it produces 350hp and 350lb-ft from the factory. You'd be happy with that from any given half-ton.

 

I don't think it's as much about what it CAN do as it is about people's expectations of it to justify price. Even though it's a Ranger, Ford likely recognizes that people expect a v6 rather than the 4cyl

 

In all honesty, a TRD pro isn't cheap either, they can be 50k or more

 

Yes, but due to mark up. I was under the impression that the guy was quoting prices without mark up but I can't really say for sure

 

True - I bought my 2018 TRD Pro here in NC the last week in Feb and it was in the low 40's even with several of the optional accessories (bed step, etc) and Toyocare. Mark up in some places is ridiculous.

 

Markup around here is insane, a pro would be around 50k, easily

 

No markup here (western mass)...at least not my dealer. MSRP mid 40s.

I got lucky. My Pro only had a $500 markup to begin with (was allocated to dealer, but not yet built) and they wouldn't budge on it, whatever, but i eventually got it removed anyway because the truck kept getting delayed as part of Toyota's moving their facility literally just down the road. Texas plant. For nearly two weeks no one was working allegedly while they did this transfer, and it resulted in 3 delays lol was even more frustrating because i live about 8 hours from the facility haha ultimately i paid 43k with all the extra stuff added on, just under 46 with TTL

If that's in CAD, the USD equivalent would be about $46k
