Ha. Have you seen the trucks for sale on CL? I see wrecked single cabs with 250k sell for $1,500. That wrecked double cab is on sale for $2k. In restored condition I expect to get at least $3k. KBB and NADA value it at $3k and $5k respectively.

 

Yup, it's hard to make trash worth a damn unless it was actually rare. Like you could restore a shitty 32 Ford from just a rusted out body and still make some bank. But a 90s Tacoma that's 2wd and 5lug, that's right there with automotive scrap if it isn't in actually real good conditon

 

And your gunna have atleast 5k if not more put into it to restore it.

Think about it. Truck+bed+all the registration is what you have now.
Plus you need to fully do the interior, paint, needs engine work to pass smog. You gunna have alot into it and alot of hours put into it. At that point you might as wel keep it for life

 

I’m only about $1,000 into it. $600 for the truck, and approximately $400 for the Vermont registration. It’ll pass SMOG with a new EGR valve.

Even if I put a brand new JDM engine into it, I would never reach putting $5k of parts into it.

Im just trying to say i dont see you making any profit from restoring it, and if plan to restore it you should plan on keeping it forever
