I've done a search but can't tell whether people are running a lift with these tire sizes or just stock. I like the skinny look of the 255. The 75 is 32 in and 80 is 33. Will either of these fit stock suspension and wheels.

I have the 255/85R16 Coopers on Stock wheels my Gen 2 with a Pro Comp leveling kit and no rubbing, even when wheelin'. I wouldn't run them without the lift but someone else may. FYI, they do have a little "hum" at speed on pavement.

All depends on your wheel choice and specs meaning the width and offset. Just to note all tires are not built equal, some tire run big and smaller. If your trying to stick with stock suspension stay away from nitto ridge grapplers, they’re wider and taller in the 255/80r17, believe it’s 33.3” while st max and other tire brands are 32.8.

I ran 255s with cooper st maxx and never had a problem stock or lifted.

    Would the 255 / 80r / 17 fit a stock 2015 double cab sport ?

Only one way to find out and that’s to put them on your truck.

I don’t know the 2015 wheel spec nor tire you wish to run as I said in my post all tires in that size have different measurements.

I bought this 2015 and it really seems to sit low. Thought I would try and get a taller tire. I've tried lifts before and it destroyed the ride.

Actually, they called it a leveling kit. Not sure which lift it was. All I know is the truck rode like a tank after that. Don't want to make the same mistake again.

That’s your problem, it was a spacer lift, hockey puck placed in your current suspension. You want a a nice ride your have to change out your suspension and spend a little money.

What would be a good lift ? I don't want a huge lift, just 3" or so. And another question, Do the newer tacomas come from the factory with a lift already ?

3” is a huge lift to me at least. I’m only running 2” in the front. 3” in the rear.

Visit the suspension thread and read up on the various types. That’s what I did.

I have Bilstein 6112/5160 and Icon RXT leaf pack. 6112 for the 2nd gen at max setting would give you 2.5” of lift. Good budget lift that I recommend to everyone B15F00EC-9B4A-40F4-A1B5-394CC6D25726.jpg

I went with a set of 265/70/R17 Falken since they're known to fit and not rub and there's plenty of photos to back it up. Good looking tires. Should be here today.
