Well, I came up with a logical question I believe; concerning 37's. Obviously, mpg is not much of a concern if I'm gonna be running gears and tires, yet tire life is.. This is where it's gonna make or break 37's for 35's... What mud tires are gonna get the most mileage for the buck, and not be a cheap tire??

I just got them so I can't speak to longevity personally. When I did my research that's what I was finding. They make MTRs look like ATs. They did awesome on the hill climbs and rocks whenever I took it out. I'm going to ATR at the end of the month and will have a lot better feel for them. Surprisingly they are not as loud as I was expecting. They are not quite but nothing crazy. Took a shit load of weight but relatively smooth on the highway. 15344741215845062346487234361537.jpg

Yeah, I've seen lots of MTR's with kevlar as the premium go to fir 37's. Jeep'ers are all over them as well. I would jump on the new Yoko's X-T Mud 003, but not at possibly $400-plus. Not trying to jack the how-to 37's thread, but this seems ideal if that size tire is the goal. These truck aren't very heavy to begin with, so any reputable brand tire should hit 40-45k, or has that number gone down over the years??

I'll definitely be posting some reviews on TW on the Pitbulls. So far so good. They have sales all the time. Unfortunately , 50% off just past a couple weeks ago.

It's possible. Not many reviews out there on the radials. We shall see. I did see several people in the 40 - 50k range and they were 3/4 ton. Tons on the bias ply. The trailered crawlers love them.

Hell yeah, the longer the life, the better smiles for sure... Last question for 37's, (for now anyway) what pressure ya'll running on the streets/hwy?? I've my 33's at 35 all 4 corners... Maybe the trucks mpg's vary so much due to tire pressure?? The 33 guys, from 35 guys and 37'ers?? Maybe too many variances?? I will probably run 30psi on all 4 corners if or when I go 37's... Should I look for the lightest rim as well?? I'm sure that would help out rolling resistance?? Maybe??

I run 32 front and 30 rear. It all depends on tread design (more square or round ) and rim size. The smaller width wheel will need less tire pressure to be flat rolling down the road. Chalk test to find out what's best for you. Anytime you can reduce unsprung weight the better.

40psi on the tsl actually make it tolerable to drive. Doesn't bother me to run less but I have found this to be best for 5 plus hour trips to the parks I drive to.

I’ve gotten 55k out of a set of Toto MTs and that was on my 14 ram 2500. I swapped on some cooper stt pros and have 30k on them now and just under half tread. I run 80psi in mine for the load rating. No issues. These were both 35” tires. On a lighter Tacoma you should easily get 50k in the street without breaking a sweat. 30% of my miles were loaded down with my crawler.

Is that due to possibly pulling threads? Never understood that

They aren’t DOT legal anyways. Shouldn’t be using them on the road but a lot of people do.
