Late to the conversation. My 1st and 2nd gens both had new dealer installed frames under warranty.

 

Hope they’ve figured it out by now!

 

That dedication from Toyota was a big reason I bought a 3rd gen. Unfortunately I believe we are now dealing with an American version of Toyota. My 1st and 2nd gen trucks were made in Japan and the quality of build was superior to my 3rd gen. Other than the frame recalls my 1st gen is over 200k now and my 2nd gen is over 100k and neither has had any other repairs beyond maintenance. At 155k I thought solenoids were bad in my 1st gen because it shifted strange and had 2 codes. After I dropped the pan I realized that the only problem was a broken wire leading to the solenoids. Fixed the wire and went ahead and installed the solenoids and a new filter and fluid. Bought a new harness for the transmission. The guy I sold it to has not yet needed to replace the harness and has driven from VA to Florida several times. I had more trouble in the first 6 months with the 3rd gen than either of the 1st and 2nd gen trucks have had as of today. Seems like the 3rd gen is fine now but is just under 20k miles.

Yea, I tell ya, my DD us a Lexus and that steering wheel is night and day nicer. But in fairness, I'd expect it to be. It is weird though that I still think about it after 2 years of driving it.

 

Yeah. I’d expect it to be as well. I plan on getting a Lexus in another year or two. For $50, it sure beats $600-$700 that some companies want to charge you. It actually was a super easy install.

But yea, the price is excellent fo sho!

Nope. Just aesthetics. It's a very tacticool look for your key fob.

This happens here, all too frequently. Problem is there are narrow roads and many logging trucks running up/down the hiway. What this postal service worker/contractor is going doing is making a false official statement! If my postal carrier get flattened by a logging truck AFTER they have marked my package as delivered but before they get around to dropping it off I don't know that I would have any recourse. I have neighbors that have reported this to the postal inspector general but a week later they are back to the same old routine...

 

Yesterday afternoon I added a power door lock actuator to the tailgate. An amazing cheap mod to have if you have a bed cover. I followed the thread and took my time. It looks factory.
