So i found this little surprise when doing regular maintenance

Yeah its the frame ,right next to the transfer case

 

Should be covered. They just put a brand new frame on my girlfriends old Tacoma. I think it’s a 05.

 

Im sure its covered more of how long will it take to get it corrected......

 

Shouldn’t be too long. My buddy just had one replaced. He drove around a t4r loaner for about three or dour days.

 

Edit. Just asked him. He said one week.

 

Yeah she scheduled a drop off and in 4 days she picked it up.

get good with the dealer techs so you can go in after hours and coat the frame with POR 15 before they install it. The frame WILL rust again if left untreated. The coating on the new frames is no better than the old frames. Some first gen people are going through frame rust issues already on the second frame. And you're SOL after you get one frame. Fool me twice...

Maybe email Skoda or Lada and ask them what they coat their frames with. I saw a Car Throttle episode of a 400k Skoda and the frame was actually quite nice for driving around England so much.

 

if anyone needs any brake bleeder caps, I'm selling them for 50 cents each. I bought a pack of 50 and it would be a decade before I use all of them. I've got 14 left currently.

 

Some of y’all 2nd genners help @Tn Jeff with fitting 285s. Has OEM 2nd gen wheels. I told him I thought a set of wheel spacers, cmc, ditch the flaps, and trim some plastic would get him clearing. What did I miss?

 

You ever find a kayak or canoe? I may know a guy with a canoe for sale!

And don't have a great way to transport kayak yet. (no crossbars on roofrack)

 

I need a new frame. I wonder if they will replace one that's been welded on and modified.

 

I am not sure about that.
