Yes, 20k mile service, I'm at 17k miles now. I average 400 a week just for work so they go by quick.

Did a 330 mile round trip today into the Cascades. Went from 150ft elevation to about 5,000ft and back down. Lots and lots of hills. Kept it in drive the entire way there. Still some delay in down shifting once hitting a hill, but better than pre TSB. The truck definitely loves to hold a gear on hills now though. I had one section on the way up the pass that it dropped to 3rd and would not let go ha I sped up and slowed down and it still kept it until I crested the hill. 4th would have been just fine, but eh. No traffic on the way there so that was great. 23.5mpg when I pulled into Wizard Falls.

The way back went a little differently. I had to use sport mode and ect pwr to get back up the pass. This was mainly due to having to pass traffic. 4th just didn’t have it at elevation. I only had me and the fiancé in the truck and no gear really. Stock tires. I had to drop to 3rd gear to keep up with a frontier on 35’s on one steep part of the pass. He had to have his foot through floor cuz he was movin lol

Maybe it was due to the heat, but I hit 3rd and 4th on downshifts quite a bit on our way back. Acted more like it’s pre TSB self, but the cascades aren’t exactly flat lol Just kind of surprised me as I was dropping a lot of elevation between these inclines.

No surprise my MPG was great on the way home.

Just brought my 2017 home from its 20K mile service, and they also put in a new blower motor and the 89661 ECM reflash. My dealer said Toyota just sent them the new blower motors (part #0400809104), so they may be already available at your local service too.

They reflashed mine as per my stumble while towing at altitude earlier this month. Hadnt noticed it before until I was crossing 9000’ and 10000’ twice in eastern Oregon and going over the Sierra.

looks good- what do you think your mileage would have been before for that same leg of that trip shown in your odometer?

Hmm honestly it’s hard to say, but I would think a little worse. Once it downshifts on hills it holds that gear now until you actually crest the hill. Pre TSB it would shift back up as soon as it sniffed a tiny decrease in steepness on the hill. That would happen when the climb was not close to being over ha So how it is now should give me better mpgs in the hills. The only time today I think it hurt mpgs was when it locked in 3rd on a hill when 4th would have been fine. It was a long climb so it held 3rd for a while.

I read somewhere in another thread that one is for the manual transmission: the B01300.

I bought my truck at Serra a year ago and made the mistake of taking it to Bill Penney in Huntsville for 5k service and the rear drivetrain howl, needless to say the didn’t even look at the drivetrain issue, just topped off the fluids and tire rotation. I won’t be going back to Bill Penney for anything now.

    D-ring tie-downs.
Picked up a 2018 TRD OR in June. Familiar and improved from my other Tacomas. My issues are throttle response and a nudging or hunting between 1000 and 1500 RPM. Pulling out into a busy street the truck doesn't react quick. Also in light or slow traffic the truck upshifts and then starts nudging or hunting. Does anyone know if either TSB 58 or 62 are remedies for these conditions?

On 8/13 I had TSB 58 flashed on my 2017 OR; fixed the issue of surging. Holds gears longer, shifts when it should, and etc. Think you'll be happy with the TSB. TSB 62 does the same thing, so you don't need both.

Ive been told on here by several that TSB 58 and 62 are the same remedy. I had 62-18 done on Saturday. It is WAY better now.

Just want to brag that my truck is getting 19-20MPG (mix of city and highway) instead of hovering around 16. I have close to 500 miles on the new update and I live in Utah, aka high elevation. That being said I wonder what sea level gas mileage would be at.

I wish we could see every single change they did to the truck with this update.

Yes. Speaking of which, seems like the truck does alarm tone when I walk away from it without locking doors after TSB 62-18. Also, the dome lights come on as I approach at night before I touch driver door handle.
Cant remember if these were options in the settings before.

    update:

so after driving a good 100 miles today in LA freeway and street traffic, I do see and feel a significant change in the way the transmission performs. definitely shifts way smoother and the delay from stepping on the gas to the truck finally picking a gear and boosting me forward is gone. I always felt like I had to prepare my whole body for that sudden sway and jolt previously. on the highway, i don’t need to gas it as much to get the truck to move. i feel like i’m lighter in the gas pedal yet the truck can easily stay between 70-80 with ease in gear at around 1600-1800 rpm. as far as mpg is concerned, I used to get about 16 mpg and my average today was about 18. will keep an eye out and keep updating the more i drive. hope this is helpful for someone!
