RUN! Don't walk away please ( and get your deposit back ). My wife just repo today one out west because the young person couldn't afford the payments on a 18 model. Shop around and for sure you're will find one at a better price.

Most dealers jack the prices on pros. Because the stock is limited and they know people are willing to pay the extra money because they want the trim. That being said when I bought my truck I worked for a dealer. That’s one of the few vehicles they wouldn’t let us buy at invoice, out of like 18 brands and 16 dealerships or something. I’m sure somewhere you can get it at sticker but it would be hard to get it under that. If someone is claiming they paid a lot under msrp than they probably got boned on their trade or somewhere in finance

I'll give my advice as someone who also bought a Tacoma at 21(last year)

If you have lots of savings, a stable job, not too many expenses and want to keep the truck 10+ years or until the wheels fall off? I would go for it, you do the math after owning this truck for many years and it becomes really cheap with high resale value.

If you have no savings and paying the truck off every month is gonna take a huge amount of your salary, I wouldn't do it.

I would avoid going to the highest offering since a 4x4 sr5 or TRD OR will give you 90-95% of the capabilities for a $10-15K less.

Even better find a low mileage(50-80k) 05-06 Tundra and you got yourself a V8 Tacoma sized truck for another 10k less and just as reliable.

Furthermore have good credit, I have been building mine since I was 18 and was able to get 0 Apr for 48 months and I am saving and and planing to have it paid off by next year.

I would have never gotten it with the Apr some dealers use to trick first time buyers like they did to some buddies, 10-15%apr which is BS.

If you are shitting money then fk it, buy 2 or 3 pros.

I just got a 2018 pro in white (I know it’s not Calvary blue), my dealer worked with me a bit and I walked out paying under sticker value. I’m 37 but could pass for 25, I went to 3 different dealers before anyone took me seriously.

Normal. No dealer I went to would work a deal on a Tacoma. They all said if I didn't buy it they would just sell it the next day to someone else. I tested them on that and sure enough they did. Also dealers in my area add 5-10k over msrp for "market adjustment"

For that get an offroad and put your own suspension on and leather seats in and be happy you came out a few grand ahead.

Look more and don't Hurry into it there are a lot of things the dealers will do to Jack prices and tell you there is a guy on YouTube that is very Yes very good at talking about what to watch out for and how to work with the dealers (The Chevy Dude) he is actually a Top auto salesman himself and I bet that other dealers HATE him but I used what I learned from his videos to work the deal for myself and also learned what scams dealers use it went well armed with that knowledge.

Here in Phoenix there are probably 8 to 10 Toyota dealerships fighting for sales. They will deal. I bought my 18 for $4800 below sticker in June. That included the 1K rebate. Also got a couple things thrown in. I could have gotten better, they still made money on me. All is good.

Smaller markets & smaller inventories are harder for the buyer.

    Best comment.

I or none of us know your financial situation. You asked for comments in reference to a deal and pricing.

We have all been 21 and wanted a cool truck/ride. Everyone’s situation is different; family, kids, employment, school, housing/rent, military. It sucks just getting by on a monthly budget at that age.

One thing for sure, Tacoma ‘s are great trucks new or used!!

How are you liking Montana? I’m considering moving to a more economically and politically friendly area after my son graduates HS.

I would just call around or email every Toyota dealership in your area and possibly even show up at a few. If you can't get the price you want then wait until the end of the month. If any of the dealerships aren't meeting their quota then you'll get a call at the end of the month. I have heard people say that dealerships don't like to negotiate on these because of the demand and limited supply. Also if you are trading anything in then you can always ask for more for your trade in to make up the difference.
