Broken Stock Tonneau Cover

-Recently noticed the second latch for the stock folding Tonneau is broken. I'm not even sure I can get the cover off without it working correctly.
-Purchased truck in Oct 16' has 17k on it.
-Is this covered under warranty?

Depends on how it broke. Mfg defect vs user error.

 

Yes it's covered through 36k. Go see dealer.

I had same problem, fixed it myself. It's the circlip that came lose in the linkage for the latch. I'll look for pics later. You can't get the cap off if you don't go under and unscrew the plastic cover. Torx bit. I think it's 15.

Edit x2: its the rusted circlip. see pic of the rust inside. Only pic I took while it was opened up.

Hmm,
I would hope this is simply a mfg defect. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary.
