I am looking to buy a Go Pro camera for the various activities I do (Mountain biking and skydiving mainly). Anybody have one? How do you like it? I am probably going to end up getting the HD one.

let me here your comments. And if there is another camera out there that you have and like (for a reasonable price) feel free to share! I currently have an $80 Oregon Scientific one I got from Sam's Club. Dont like it too much.

    thanks!

I have the gopro wide, just the SD version. I got it close to 2 years ago and has held up well. I use it to record ATV riding so it has gotten whacked by a LOT of tree branches and is still good to go.

I'd recommend gopro as a brand. I've never had another helmet cam..but I have not been disappointed with this one so if I ever do upgrade to a better one I would definitely look at gopro first.

Here's a link to my youtube channel with a buncha videos with the camera. Youtube does cut back the quality a little bit but its pretty close.

Yea i have one, i got it about 2 1/2 years ago and still works fine. I really like the fact that you dont get any of that wind sound in the video.

Yea the low sound setting is definitely the better of the two options. Do you know about the weather seal removal trick?

When I first got the camera and recorded riding my quad it would barely pick up the sound of the exhaust..since I did removed it, you can really hear it!

Whether or not you should do this would obviously depend on what exactly you are doing with the camera but I have found that if you remove the white waterproof seal from the protective case and keep the sound on low you are able to get the best of both worlds. Only a little bit of wind noise and still have the sounds that matter like engine noises or what not.

Watch this video..this is with the weatherproof seal IN and sound on LOW

Now watch this one..this is weatherproof seal OUT and sound on LOW

Yup, I had one on my spear gun, lost them both to a big tiger shark. They are super sick and worth getting.

Wow that definitely sounds way better. I normally use mine for stand-up jet skiing so i kinda need it water proof. But the next time i use it when i ride my dirt bike ill try removing that seal.

I would like to get one for wheeling trips and mount it to the bumper or maybe under the truck

awesome guys! thanks for your opinions. My friend is actually selling his go pro wide thats hes had for a few years that all of you are talking about. hes asking 100 including a couple mounts that are normally extra. I will take the HD loss and jump on this deal for the price compared to a new $300 one

one more question... the biggest issue i have with my current camera is the buttons are so small and hard to press that I have issues and end up having to take it off my helmet to get the camera going.

are the buttons easy enough to start recording and stop? how easy is it to know if your recording? Wearing gloves are the buttons easy to press?

    thanks!
