That sounds like a lot of random stuff piled on the truck, yet still not that much weight. I dont think its any problem for the truck, if it struggles then take it easy with the hills and consider upgrading to a v6 and/or beefier suspension.

I think it will be fine as long as you drive it carefully which I am pretty sure you do sense you even considered asking others. I would love to see it all rigged up when you are feeling better. Best of luck with your recovery.

tanx for the support...they said 2 to 3 months for recovery (off work...yeah!) I haven't even tried everything yet on the taco (just the front carrier and the Lees-ure Lite)...I've carried the 2 kayaks (piggyback) on my Yakima racks...I've purchased the widest crossbars they offer (78") so the kayaks can sit side by side; of course this means that the rack will be wider than the truck, but I think it fits in with the oddity of the entire 'set-up'...when I explained to my Dad what my plans were, he said "It's gonna look like a little train..." I should also mention that (in the bed) I have a 3 person inflattable boat, bimini top, and electric trolling motor...

Camping in State run campgrounds is a trip...you realize there is a whole other 'sub culture' out there that does this..a lot of retirees do it full time...there almost seems to exist a semi state of 'anarchy'...people do crazy things while away camping that they normally wouldn't do at home...there is a certain group of people who camp who like a certain type of music...(I'm trying to be politically correct)...I call this music 'Latino Calliope'...you got your trumpets, accordians, tubas, guitars, etc. all mixed up into one composition...and this Calliope can be turned on at any (it seems) time of the day...so I had a great idea: if you notice on my tent trailer, there are side horizontal windows...I figured this resembles a puppet theater stage from the outside...I could set up my venue at night and perform a free puppet show (donations accepted)...a free show to the sorrounding campers & people just 'strolling' the campsites...I could have marionettes playing miniature trumpets, accordians, tubas, guitars, etc. - jes sayin...

Another thing...my 2 daughters mentioned to me that since I'm doing some serious camping...I need to make a 'banner' saying who I am or what I stand for...and, you know, they are right...I've seen people in RV's put up little signs that either proclaims their family name or makes a reference to their travelling pets, etc...so I had a great idea, my girlfriend and I enjoy drinking Absinthe...so I made a little sign...on it is a picture of a green fairie and in German lettering it reads "A Trip with the Green Fairie"...I already have had comments on this and several 'thumbs up' gestures...

Being an English major, you're losing me with all of the "..." between each thought or sentence. I think I have a solution for your setup but I keep losing my concentration.

How do you get an English Major off your porch?

    Pay him for the pizza.

    Sorry, had to. :D

    you mean the ellipses?

Being an english major, those shouldn't be a problem for you since it is a recognized form of punctuation :D

Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
Consider this: your vehicle has a payload capacity. All the stuff in and added to it, including driver and passengers. It has a towing capacity, with tongue weight capacity. It also has a gross combined weight capacity (weight of trailer and the load in/on the truck). If you exceed ANY of those capacities you are asking for trouble.
Take the truck fully loaded to the weigh station. Do it unloaded too. Do the math to figure out if you're over. Don't forget the hitches and other accessories are included in the equation as cargo.

Swiss army taco:) Hope it all works out!

It sounds like you have a lot of bulky items without a lot of mass. Like the previous poster said, weigh everything and make sure you are within spec. If you are, everything should be fine. I personally have a 2.7L double cab and regularly tow a 7x12 trailer with 2 quads and camping gear weighing in at ~2500 lbs. It pulls just fine even in the mountains of West Virginia. Just take it easy on the steep grades.

skytower & dauange - tanx, it's so refreshing to hear objective thought processing & not linear subjective 'babble'...you're correct in the fact that I should drive my 'bulky', yet possibly within weight 'limits' taco, to a weigh station to see where I land; the original taco scientists (Toyota) graphed these weight ratios for a reason, let me honor them by following their suggestions; when I mention 'bulky', let me emphasize, as well, the 'wind drag factor' in my overall calculations; and to remember that's when the 'overdrive off' switch is utilized...besides my 200 lb. girlfriend...I'm planning to bring along my two 7 lb. Morkie pups...Martin (my Russian Blue feline) will be staying home & 'guarding the fort'...life is good!

In regards to my excessive use of "..." I can't remember when it began. I guess previously, a simple comma sufficed; but then I was looking for something more. I think tigerfan00 is correct by calling it an ellipses. I wanted a form of punctuation to denote a pause in thought and also a segway to a different topic (a non-sequitor).

So, I'm gonna try and stop this habit ( "..." ) . If I should backslide, it's up to my fellow taco owners to help keep me on the 'straight and narrow'.

I'm gonna try and post some more pics, stay tuned. :O)

Hey, I found some (legitmate) photos of my tent trailer set up along with my scooter and kayak; these were taken at Carlsbad State Beach (the bluffs overlooking the ocean); these were images before I started developing my current 'plans'. One photo shows the bed inside the Lees-ure Lite; the bed is full size and there is also about 5 feet of floor space at the foot of the bed. Like I mentioned before, I have (factory made) add-a-room which adds 55 sq.feet to the rear of the trailer and an awning on the front side.

    Hey dadyfarlessa
you should not have any problems I think you might be wrong about the weight of your scooter you might be talking about the dry weight of your bike.
Later model first gens are known for front and rear frame damage due to frame not being boxed in in the fron or rear.[IMG]
trail gear has the frama support you can get to weld and make them stronger. I am getting this for the rear this week, I hope!

Well, I've been back to work now since November. Rotator cuff is ok (I guess). When I move it a certain way I can feel/hear something in there; with just a little pain.

I've taken the 'rig' out a few times. It's still frightening a little having the Yamaha Razz on the front. I found out it just barely fits in the bed; stretching the Soft Topper shell just a little. So I'm planning to transport it back there, keeping the rear set-up the same (Versa-haul scooter carrier, Honda Ruckus, tent trailer). Another amendment is that I'm making racks to hold the 2 kayaks to the top of the tent trailer.

Will post photos when this is done.

Why the username 'daddyfarlessa'? I use to have a cat named Farley. My grandaughter once said "Why do you call him Farley? Why don't you call him Farlessa?" I said, "That sounds like a name for a girl cat". She said "Ok then, call him Daddyfarlessa". It stuck. I think it's my username everywhere now.

    Also, I'm getting better. No "..." 8)
