Damn. Week got away from me, don’t think I have time for a submission. I was going to do some steel wool too. Great submissions so far.

I don't have one of those fancy cameras. Mine is a simple Canon PowerShot. I looked all through its settings and couldn't fine any way to manually set the exposure time. So what I did was shut off the flash and shot with low light. When I get info on the file is says Exposure time: 0.8 so I guess I am short of the one second requirement. Here is my entry, best I can do.

Could have had a great shot last night. My friends had a sparkler send off at their wedding. If only I bought my camera, and thought about the challenge. But then again, not what the moment was about.
I'm waiting to see what this week's challenge will be. I would like to start playing on a regular basis and I have Monday and Saturday off this week!

I'm sure this has been done thousands of times, but I was pretty proud of myself when I came up with the idea to take a long exposure while driving (and being safe, of course).
That being said, I am disqualifying myself because I thought I had it set to 5", but it was actually 0.5"

I need to get a set of nd filters to be able to do this daylight long exposure stuff. And a remote. I heard you can download a program to reconfigure your camera so you can do longer exposures than the max 30sec one that it comes with. I might look into doing that.

    Almost home lol I suck
yeah but then I don’t have my full CS5 suite and I only shoot raw
you shouldn’t need to download anything unless you have a point and shoot without manual exposure settings. If you have BULB as a shutter speed you’re good.

I've tried that in the past but I get too much shake in the pictures on the really long ones. I'm shooting with a cannon 60D. I like to put it on a 2sec delay to calm the camera after touching it before it does a long exposure. I also weigh down my tripod with my camera bag and some weights or rocks. I just need to pay up and get a remote, lenses and filters.

60D has bulb, use that with a decent timer remote, 2 sec timer, whatever length exposure, and go into the custom functions menu and ENABLE MIRROR LOCKUP. With this on, Press the shutter button, the mirror will lock in the UP position, then start your timer/exposure, this way you get far less shake in the camera.

My current setup is a Canon t2i 24-70mm f/2.8 II, Lee filters Big and Super stoppers, and a cheap "aputure" timer remote i got for like $10 on eBay which works great aside from the fact you have to take out the battery to turn it off.
