My wife went with a friend to buy a Turbo SAAB. They charged an extra $500 for the color black.

This is the age of the internet. Scour every dealership within 200 miles. One of them will have what you want, at your price, and will probably deliver the damn thing for free. There's a dealership somewhere near you not hitting their monthly number yet and willing to move a Pro below MSRP. Never buy from a local dealership without going into the deal with leverage .

If he is, there's no reason to be mad at him. Life gives us all different hands. Play the one you're dealt. Being an American makes you the equivalent to a trust fund kid to the majority of the world. It's all about perspective.

That does not make it right because the dealer is charging him a all of a sudden extra two grand. Of course some fool will buy it I tell you people and their fu**ing greed and willingness to take advantage of another human being

Correct. The first rule of negotiation is leverage. The second is be willing to walk away.

Always remember that buying something like this is a two way street. They want your money and you want their truck. Just as there are more buyers out there, there are also more sellers. Work this to your advantage and you'll land on a price that is fair to both parties. I walked away from two dealerships to have the last one agree to my price ($5K off MSRP) on the phone. No negotiation. Look around, you'll find a better deal, I assure you. I know how bad 'the fever' is when you're 21, but trust the wisdom you're reading on here. There will be another and the price will be right.

Calvery...actually Calvary- The hill near Jerusalem (see also Jerusalem) on which Jesus was crucified. The name is Latin for “Place of the Skull”; it is also called Golgotha.

    Cavalry Blue.....the actual Toyota Color

you could even buy a used one for 10-15k less in an OR or Sport model...at 21, I would save my money and put a nice down payment on a house or invest....

If it is the truck you want and nobody else has the truck (dealer can see who has what so no reason to make up a story) buy it. If dealer agreed on $45k then added $2K for no reason I would walk.

Par for the course my dude. Most dealerships do this with low volume models simply because they can - it's not Toyota or TRD Pro exclusive. Either overpay to get what you want for little effort or put in the work to get it for the price you want. It won't be easy because dealerships know they can get the extra coin from the next guy in line.

I disagree with this. It's exactly the opposite. Figure out exactly what you want to pay, offer it to the dealership and they can take it or leave it. Done. As long as your price leaves something on the table for the dealership you will eventually find someone who will do it. Once they realize where you're at they generally stop bull shitting.
