    Hey Socal folks,

I need some advice. I promised my niece and nephew that I would take them to Disney Land when they learned English. They legally moved here from Peru a couple years ago. Well their English is getting pretty good, so it's time to start planning. I want to know the best days to go. I hate crowds and not particularly fond of DL to begin with. I also don't want to go when its blistering hot out. So lets hear some suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

    Tuesday or Wednesday....
    Middle of the week
Get there as early as they open (i forget when) so you can do as much as you want and miss the crazy heat if it gets too hot.
But there is the fire works show at night, which is cool.... so it depends how old they are also....

    Doesn't have to be summer.

I don't mind waiting till the fall.. in fact I prefer it. I just want the days that are going to have the absolute least amount of people. Don't really care much about the fireworks and weekdays are fine.

having lived there my whole life....

Avoid every holiday, for the love of god. Avoid summer if possible. If not, Tues, wed, or thursday are best. Get ready for lines. And being raped by the cost of food. If you can wait til the school year, you can do the entire park on any weekday.

It's also pricey as heck, so I'd suggest doing the 2-day pass and doing CA Adventures on day 2. it's kind of lame by itself. Also, Downtown Disney is fun, kind of like the Univeral Citywalk, and free (parking fee). Problem, it's crowded in the summer and weekends too, but still a good time.

if you want the inside scoop, go call my brother. He's a D-land geek. Seriously, did you know they sell a Soundtrack Of Disneyland? And that he keeps it in his car CD player??

When Cali school is in session is the best. I agree that Friday, Sat or Sun for the night shows and fireworks are worth it. For some weird reason, President's Day is not that busy. Forget about the entire month of August, it's feckin hot.

Become a king of knowledge with the FastPasses and use them religiously.

Last time we were there we did Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday (1st week of April) and we did everything we wanted to do in Dland and Cali Advernture the first two days, then focused on DLand on Sat. You're good until about 11:00 a.m. on Sat when ALL of Socal shows up, then we just messed with Fastpasses until it was time to sit down and wait for the main night show which started about 9:30 p.m. IIRC in front of the Castle (it's worth it)

Also, make sure you get to see all of the Disney Princesses:cool:

Go on a rainy day. NOBODY is there when it rains. I went one time when it was raining, and i rode every ride that day.

my daughter and i have been passport holders for the past 3 years...

we have gone on a lot of different times to see what worked best...

weekdays were generally when we would go, but with summer vacation, it was always crowded...

one day, i bumped into a friend who works there, and she suggested going on sundays...

seems that a lot of tourist families travel on sundays, so attendance is a little lighter as travellers will target Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday...

so, we tried it, and it seemed to be pretty true, regardless of the season...

of course, summer was just bad in general, but sundays remained consistently lighter... attendance peaked with locals after church (2pm to 6pm), but that was about it...

but, as mentioned earlier, rainy days are the best days to go as there are typically no lines at all...

on rainy days, we would pack our parkas or bring umbrellas...
