Hey guys, I’m thinking about putting a cherry bomb on my 07 v6 taco. Not too worried about preformance and numbing not up hp or anything. Just looking for a nice sound. Seen some videos on it. Any chance someone’s put one on a similar truck. Just looking for some reviews

What "sounds good" is a matter of personal taste, but a Cherry Bomb style muffler on a 90-degree V6 is almost universally considered to sound like shit. I would highly recommend considering a chamber muffler like a Magnaflow or Flowmaster instead.

Cherry bomb makes chamber style mufflers these days not just the old school glass pack tubes.

I saw a video of a 2.5 extreme i/o welded in place of the stock muffler on youtube last week. Sounded pretty good.

I was watching trophy truck videos and got carried away. Turns out you can't make a v6 sound like that... :(

I had a Cherry Bomb on my 3.0l 4runner. It was loud and had a pretty flat tone. Even as a highschooler I found it annoying

I put one (glass pack tube type) on my '59 Chevy 3/4 ton in '70. 235 straight 6/4spd/4:76

The old exhaust was rotten and falling off. Found the pipe solid just behind the cab, put the bomb there with a turn down tip.

It actually didn't sound too bad, kinda muffled out the rattles and squeaks of that old gem.

And messing with stuff like that pre emissions/ECUs was pretty simple, allowing 'creativity'.

I say give it a go. If you don't like it, change it. Personally I don't think it will be pleasant......... but you might dig it.

not sure what it is about the v6 but they do sound like shit. the I6 in all my previous jeeps can sound like a v8 with the proper setup.

My wife's old Dodge Nitro with the 3.7 growled a little stock when you got on it. It's about the only thing I liked about it.

I have a 24” cherry bomb glass pack and it sounds great. The 12” is a little poppy and Ricy so I went with the 24” and love it
