I didn't see him listed on ARRL class lists. I don't know what it takes to get on there but more people would find him. Welcome to the world of Amateur Radio.

I also hadn't seen those classes listed. I went down to Dale's class at the senior center in Petaluma a couple weeks ago. The four of us in our group all passed, and the cram + test was only $25/person.
We already had radios, and I've programmed them all myself, so I'm not sure if we would have gone this route anyway.

I am curious though, which repeaters are "frequently used for wheeling?"

Got home late last night and I've only glanced through the list, but it looks like a bunch of repeaters in the Sierras, Sac Valley, and over to the Bay. Saw some around Tahoe, Downieville, the Rubicon repeaters, etc. I don't think there's anything you couldn't find on Repeaterbook or elsewhere if you wanted to, just saves the hassle of compiling and programming into your radio.

He also gave out a booklet with mapping tables for GMRS/FRS channels to their frequencies and the radios are unlocked so that is handy - those are also here: https://myoffroadradio.com/importance-of-staying-on-ham-radio-frequencies

    She ain't stock anymore.
I got the ARRL book but I'm using Hamstudy.org a whole lot more. The website is free to use but there is also an app that was around $3. Take advantage of the explanations in the upper right hand corner of the questions when you get them wrong or just don't quite understand them.
