This took place during my sophomore year of high school, I believe in 2005, so I would have been 16 or almost 16...

There was this Asian girl who I found to be rather annoying, one of at least three at that high school (Centreville High School in Clifton, Virginia). One of them was a South Korean girl named Mary who was one year older than me, and I've talked about her in this thread before. This girl was named Yaji or Yeji, and I forget whether she was also Korean, or Chinese.

I had been fair weather friends with Yaji, but by the time this incident took place I was going out of my way to avoid her. Unfortunately, we had the same lunch period.

One time I was eating lunch and listening to whatever portable music device I had at the time. It was either my dad's portable Sony minidisc player (remember those?) or the iPod Shuffle my parents got me for my 16th birthday. It had these huge padded DJ-style head phones (either Aiwa or Phillips). Yaji came over tommy table to confront me about something, and I was having none of it, so I just cranked up my music and continued to eat like there wasn't a PMSing Asian girl there (yes, if I remember correctly I later found out she was on her period and all out of sorts).

Yaji wasn't having any of it and ripped the headphones off my head.

If it had been a guy who did that, they would have been laid out on the cafeteria floor with a black eye, a bloody nose, or a busted lip. Because Yaji was a girl, I was a bit nicer to her than I would have been to a male student. I don't remember what exactly happened, but I'm sure words were exchanged and I said something like "WHAT THE FUCK?!?!" or "WHY THE FUCK DID YOU THAT?!?!"

Nothing memorable happened, but I seem to remember getting up from my seat and glaring down at her. Many of the students who bullied, teased, or otherwise antagonized me who would take jabs at me while I was sitting down would run away in fear when I got up from my seat because I was considerably larger than them.

So yeah, Yaji is (1) lucky she was a girl, and (2) lucky that she didn't break my headphones...

 

I have women smack me and do all sorts of stuff. I use to be a womanizing asshole, never once thought of raising my hand to them. You did good

 

Another one of those annoying Asian girls, a Korean named Jane who was friends with Mary (the other Korean), flat out assaulted me for no good reason, and I kept my cool.

We were horsing around at the lunch table, and I accidentally squirted her with my chocolate milk juice box thing. I got some chocolate liquid on her shirt/blouse/overpriced brand name top thingy, but it was a fucking accident...

Before I could even apologize, she grabs the ice pack from my lunchbox and aims it directly at my head. Let me tell you, getting hit in the head with an ice pack HURTS!

I just glared at her, and screamed "WHAT THE FUCK?!?!" She seemed to think she was justified because I'd stained her shirt. I immediately ratted her out to whichever teacher was on cafeteria duty and she was sent to the principal's office. If I recall, this was right before Christmas break. Jane was suspended for the remainder of the time before break if I remember correctly!

I was never too fond of our neighborhood in Fairfax County. I loved our house (though it definitely would have benefited from a separately-zoned central A/C system for the 2nd floor), but the neighborhood itself sucked. It wasn't dangerous by any means, and there at least two cops living in it. My parents paid $400K for their house in 2002, and sold it for almost $700k in 2005. By '05, there was not a single home in that neighborhood going for under $600K!

However, not even a decade earlier, these houses had been selling in the low $200Ks. As a result, a very low-rent white trashy type of crowd was able to afford these houses and moved in long before we were there.

The result was trashy parents whose kids picked on me!

 

There were boats, campers, and derelict cars in driveways, and kids were allowed to run amok with impunity...

Also, when I was going to school in Fairfax County, I never encountered so many kids who were on probation or had some type of police record. We lived there from 2002 until 2005, 8th grade through 10th grade for me...

It seemed like every other person I met was on probation or had been in some type of trouble with the law! This dubious distinction did not discriminate either...

Make, female; Black, white, Asian, Hispanic; Rich background, poor background...

When I was 13 and in 8th grade, there was a 17-year old black kid in my 7th grade math class. He was not stupid by any stretch of the imagination; He'd just spent so much time locked up that he'd gotten behind! He was not a very nice guy either, one of types who'd fight you at the drop of a hat for bumping into him or looking at him the wrong way...

 

One time, all the kids on one street hid behind cars and trees and shit, and they ambushed me while I was riding my bike...

They all started throwing sticks, stones, pine cones, etc, at me. I was forced to turn my bike around and retreat. My mom was absolutely livid about this, but there wasn't much we could do because I couldn't prove exactly
who'd done it...

 

Did you rat him out?

 

And they never got punished?

 

People like them are why the 2nd amendment is so important!

Haha. She attacks anyone she doesn't recognize, and it's all my fault. She has bitten several girl scouts, jehovah witnesses, salesmen, and one UPS driver. I'm surprised no one has gone to the city council, and complained about a savage dog.

 

She's an extremely loyal dog, she walks around the house at night before going to her couch inside my parents bed room. If an intruder ever breaks into our house, she'll be willing to do anything she can to protect us, and her territory.
