Oh believe me the welder was picky about it. He didn't like how the driver side came out. I told him it looked great and nobody would ever see it. He said, "But I can see it."

That's a craftsman right there. It wasn't done until he was satisfied.

 

While getting my cab mount chop done I noticed the dust cover cap on my passenger front hub was dented. Presumably happened during a tire change rotation and the shop just didn't tell me.



Local dealer wants $22.75 for the new cover. Wondering whether I need to have the bearing looked at or repacked just in case it has gotten dirty.

My Method center cap fits over this so I'm hoping dirt hasn't gotten in there.

 

That would come off to get to CV nut, wouldn't come off for tire rotation/change. That's not going to affect your bearings. I would be concerned if whoever was in there torqued the CV nut to 173 Ft Lbs, that will affect your bearing life. I'd torque it just to be safe.

 

Welded DIY sliders and epoxy painted yesterday. I hit the tops with a few coats of bedliner texture for step grip.
I hope I can find time to install on the truck today.

there is an option to add bump stops with this order for $20. the u bolts that come with it are very long. even with my AAL they were still too long so be prepared to cut them down to a more manageable length

I would just seal the gap with silicone or rtv

 

Removed front flaps and chopped a bunch more fender liner. No more rubs!

After wasting money on paying someone to polish truck and it not being up to my standards due to my OCD, I decided it was time to learn how to do it myself.
Watched a bunch of vids and bought a HF DA polisher and some supplies from chemical guys, and other places.
Spent 3 hours one steppin, Sonax perfect finish, followed up with jescar power lock then topped that with meguiars fast finish. I was shocked I tell you. Huge difference.
