Unfortunately Photoshop is a very big reality for the fashion world so I'm forced to use it...but it is a pretty amazing program. You can literally do just about anything in it (photo-wise). Not that that's always a good or ethical thing but that's a whole other topic lol.

I know Lightroom and CaptureOne have their own retouching tools but Photoshop's are sooooo much easier and more fluid to use, especially with a Wacom tablet. I guess it really just depends on what kind of work you're needing to do.

Oh I know. I'm just getting into fashion is some projects I work on. I've very much done more "natural" shooting with minimal retouch/manipulation, but am slowly coming to terms with the fact that I will have to pick it up to get the more professional industry looks.

I understand it but really dislike the fakeness of a heavily touched face or unnatural light in a shot...

LR and CO really hit the wall once you're done the basic photo post processing.

Completely agree. Photoshop gets overused a lot, it's nice to see that in the past few years even some of the biggest ad agencies and production companies have embraced a more natural look and feel in the fashion industry. Hopefully that trend continues and grows.

Im a photoshop person, been using it for the last 20 years for graphic design and stuff before they had illustrator. Having said that, I hardly use it anymore since I mainly do time lapses. (photoshop is better for single image touch up or creative design) I loath lightroom, I hate its catalog system.. I use adobe bridge, and do all my raw edits through that using raw editor. Basically what Lr what designed off of.

Its all personal preference. Use what you feel comfortable with, and expand from there.

One of the main reasons I went with capture one over Lightroom was the catalog system. Oh and pricing structure :)

I have to use adobe software because a program I use to batch edit time lapse files and deflicker them is built off Lightroom. I get around it by using raw editor in Adobe Bridge. The software im talking about is called LRTimlapse if you were curious.

Heres a shot from that big bear trip I took a few months ago. My camera and my friends camera both on our sliders. Theres a lot of grain, but it was shot at iso 12800! lol two images stacked together for minor noise reduction.
