also... to the OP, nice job on the write up (I've been subscribed to this thread since you made it and finally did my install this past weekend). one comment though... I bought the 1 1/2" hole saw, but had to make a bit of trimming afterwards with a dremel to get the light to fit. I kind of wish I had used a 1 3/4" one.

any chance you remember if you wired them in series? that's my guess... but I really have no idea.

Yeah I mentioned needing to trim with that size but I wanted a tight fit.

They are both to the same hot/ground wires in a harness that goes to my blue sea fuse box. Nothing special.

Just installed a single diffused Ignite and ran into two things...

    1. The pigtail isn't even long enough to reach the trailer plug, if your plan is to tap right there you'll still need to lengthen the wires.

    2. The supplied screws aren't long enough to go thru the bumper plastic and the metal underneath. Get 3/4" 8/32 screws before you start.

Me. Put me in the driver's seat.
I did a similar, less fancy mount--simply wired into left backup light so they come on with the backup lights, which is all I needed for now. They roughly tripled the amount of light, and radically transformed video quality: where backing up was a video wasteland of blurry black and white, grainy and virtually indecipherable garbage (it was hard to even see large tree trunks), the Rigid lights lit up the area and the video is now crisp and in color. Huge increase in utility and safety. Took maybe 45 minutes, and that's because I'm old and slow.

So the supplied bolts aren't long enough to go through the plastic part?

If I remember, there are some ribs of plastic that needed to be dealt with.

So by trimming the plastic behind the bumper, I can use the factory bolt? I’m plan on doing this tonight, but don’t wanna start on it if the bolts aren’t long enough. Very clean install btw.....

Thanks! Yeah I just used a dremel with a grinding stone wheel to make it work. I think actually there are two plastic pieces sandwiched and I had to dremel through the backing one. Or you can probably run by a local Ace and get longer bolts.

Those Rigid ignites are awesome little lights. I have the floods in my mirrors and output is great for their size. Plus with them drawing less than 1amp each no relay needed if you dont want.
