Thanks. The sanding seemed like it took forever at times!

I’m planning on just putting short bolts through them. Something with a rounded head. Then probably use some clear plastidip over them to seal them up. This way if I ever decide to use them again for a ski rack or something, it’ll be easy to access them. I’ve thought about doing some body filler instead to make them more permanently covered up. I still might do that before I paint the base and clear.

A couple things got done yesterday and today...nothing too exciting. I finally did the pinch weld mod.
Removed a little plastic, cut a slit in the pinch weld, bent it inward a bit with some vice grips, then slammed it down with a dead blow hammer. Afterwards I trimmed the little corner that sticks off the bottom of the weld as well as a small amount of the fender just inside the flare. Then I sprayed some rubberized undercoating on the area and called it good. Not really all that exciting, but in case anyone's looking to do this to theirs, here's some pics.

Today I installed a Compustar alarm. Nothing too fancy, just something to deter ghetto people from effing with the truck. Especially when I leave it parked to go MTB'ing. I don't really want to post of how I wired it all in, but this site was very helpful for anyone looking to do and alarm install themselves. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/vehiclewiring/1/yeard/Toyota.html

Also, I bought a set of these Hi-Lift mounts from another member on here this week. Anyone have any creative ideas to mount these up?

I like it a lot so far. Has good sound quality and doesn’t take up much space having an on board amp. It’s not a mirror shaking set up that some like. It definitely gives the stereo a very balanced sound. I got it through Jet.com. I got 15% off since it was the first time I bought through there. It was around $100 shipped with wiring. Can’t beat that kind of deal. Much less than the Infinity and Kicker equivalents. I had the Kicker one in another truck and definitely didn’t sound twice as good for twice the price.

Nicest single cab ive seen in NM, I never liked the red but since I got my truck it looks better everytime I see it. My original plan was to raptor line the entire truck. But I may just repaint the original color to get rid of the NM sunburn I have going on now

Thanks. The clear on this truck has definitely been taken care of. I'm trying to keep it waxed so avoid the NM UV rays fading it. Even when I pulled the bed liner, the paint in underneath looked pretty good too. That raptorliner is pretty good stuff. This is the first truck I've used it on and so far I'm pretty happy with it.

Everyone seem to like the raptor liner. That being said everyone liked herculiner and it sucked. It looked nice for about a month before it started to fade and after about a year it looked bad. Almost like the old paint was showing through. Did you buy the raptor gun?

I used Herculiner on my last truck. It was pretty crappy I thought. I didn't know if it was just how I applied it or what most experienced.

With the Raptor, i bought the kit that came with the gun: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CKE7B1E/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used a 6 gal pancake compressor to spray it. I turned it up to 70-75psi and that was enough to maintain a good pressure for a decent texture.
This stuff right away just seemed way more solid having used a separate hardener you mix in. The Herculiner just seemed rubbery all the time even a year later. It scraped off pretty easily with moderate use.

How thick does it lay down with 1 kit?

It's not super thick. A 3-4mm maybe. If you are planning some really heavy duty use, you might want to do an additional 3-4 Liters to do a heavy 2nd coat.

Did you have any material left. That's plenty thick for me. I usually only carry fuel cans or my dirt bike. If it's bigger I'll use my other truck, the beds too short

I used all 4 Liters. I read online that some people get away with 3 Liters on smaller trucks, but I tried to put it on thick to make sure I got good coverage. I forgot the D-Cab beds are even smaller so you may have some left or be able to lay it on thick if you want to just use it all.

After having the smaller pulley on the supercharger for a few months now, the ECU decided to start making the motor ping like a MF'r. Also, in open loop it the AFR's were dropping into the 10.2-10.8 range making the truck bog like crazy under boost. I bought a used MAF Calibrator that I planned on putting on the truck to lean out some of the open loop fuel to gain some power back. The more I read online, though, the more I had to face that this would not address the timing which was probably the issue causing the pinging under load in boost. So I decided to install the Megasquirt 3 stand alone that I had kept from my other truck (with the original intention of selling it). The big thing on the other truck was I could not get it to idle lower than 1600rpm which bugged the eff out of me. So I finally started researching again how to make this work and I came across a few good pieces of info that were exactly what I needed. I figured out that the IAC Valve was just stuck open b/c the VVT wire was not set as an idle output wire. So I installed everything in a few hours (quick since I already had in wired into a URD PNP harness from the other truck), changed the appropriate idle settings, and luckily it started right up and idled perfectly during and after warm up. After doing a little tuning the last few days, to say the truck drive better is a huge understatement. The truck drives leaps and bounds better. SO MUCH MORE torque everywhere with the new timing map! Power all the way through the rpm range with the direct injector control! And now it just feels smoother pretty much everywhere but especially when cruising in stop and go traffic through town and transitioning through downshifts and whatnot. The truck is so much more fun to drive now, can't wait to get it in the dirt. Here's a few pics, not too much of the install since it most of it is hidden in the dash behind the glove box. I have write ups here in my old truck's thread for those that are interested in the wiring side of things.

What great about it is it uses only the O2 sensor from my PLX wideband (no pre and post cat OEM sensors needed). It bypasses the OEM MAF sensor which can be completely removed once I install a GM IAT sensor. Basically simplifies the way fuel and timing are managed and gets way better results. Here's a few pics that I had posted up in the Turbo BS thread.

Also, I forgot to mention that I installed Osidetiger 550cc injectors as well that I had kept off the old truck. Definitely overkill for this s/c setup, but I'm thinking about possibly turbo'ing later on then I get some more time...

Hub to fender measurements are about 24”. Maybe slightly less. That probably around 2.25-2.5”. I just trimmed the pinch weld for the tires and don’t get anymore rubbing. The 10.5” width helps as well especially with the 3.75” backspace of the wheels

Where else did you happen to see body panel blanks like that? I need one for the center of my door jam, and top of door jam. Thanks boostedka, I started to look at SC's today for my 2.7.

Thanks man! I'm hoping to get it more off-road now that it's how I'd like Maybe one of these days i can make it up to Utah to wheel with your crew. Looks like you guys do some pretty awesome stuff up there.

I honestly just started googling around and found out they're called Wheel Arches. So i just searched that and went with the cheapest one shipped. They all seem to be pretty much the same thing. Probably manufactured by the same company.
