Thanks man! Seems like everyone was doing the hidden thing and I almost did too but I wanted to be a little different. It's definitely a lot cheaper putting it behind the grill, however, I would not buy expensive brackets like most. Amazon sells perfectly good brackets for under $25. I had them at first, and sent them back when I changed my mind.

For the purpose of this review and for ease of installation I am using the supplied switches (one for each bar), which really aren't too bad. But ultimately I am gonna replace them with a sing CH4x4 because I will only always run them both at the same time.

Of course I went crazy with the wiring and made it bullet proof. Solder joints, triple shrink tubing followed up by wire loom, color coded wire ties, bla bla bla. So that install and then the wiring for both light bars too all day yesterday. Of course this was my first ever electrical mod on a vehicle too. Plus I test fit everything before cutting wires etc.

I can honestly say though, if and whenever I wheel at night, I will not run into anything stationary because I couldn't see it. LOL

While we are talking about lighting does anyone know if these can be turned off?MVIMG_20180819_213106.jpg
I go to the drive-in sometimes and these lights surrounding the radio are really bright. I usually put a jacket over it.
    And some gratuitous Inferno pics

I do not believe so, or at least I haven’t figured out a way to turn them off either. Well, I know you can adjust the brightness of the center gauge cluster screen, but I have the peasant radio, so not even sure on that one.

I believe you may be able to dim them through the menu options.

Yeah, I don't think there is a way. With the truck on and lights off those things are bright.

I tried. Couldnt find it in options menu and the trip meter doesnt dim these. I will have to stick with the jacket/towel over radio mod.

If I had lights like that, the freaking chickens would be thinking it's daylight!

EDIT yet again: I believe this is the only way to adjust that center LCD brightness as well. It also controls the backlight behind the Odometer/Tachometer

You could make a wooden tray that hooks onto the top of the dash. Line the back with soft foam to protect the face of the radio and then you'd have a place to put your popcorn, hot dogs and soda pop.

You just gave me a great idea. I have some left over black out shade material from my trailer. That wood be perfect. probably not going to make the tray but I will make a little something to hold it and hang over the radio face. Thanks
I rarely go, there are no more drive ins on long island so its a novelty/nastalgic to us when we go camping and we can take Baby.IMG_20180810_194914.jpg

Very cool that you include your Baby in this type of activity. So cool!

Well, glad to help. And yea, a wooden tray is so 70' wood shop kitsch. Since you have blackout cloth you could instead sew in some pockets to hold your pop corn, hot dogs and soda pop.

Funny you guys bring this up because the family has been excited that there is a drive-in about 10 minutes away from where I just moved to! :taco: I'm already contemplating speakers for the bed of the truck (and my truck is still has a couple more weeks until it arrives). :annoyed:
