I’ve been using two HF jacks for 6 or 7 years now. Still going strong.

I wouldn’t get under the truck without stands, but I wouldn’t do that with any jack.

Some rope, a truck to pull on it, and some careful chainsaw work.

    Or call a pro.

Yea the house is safe. The broken piece looks stable. Get that ladder far far away lol ladders have no business being involved in any tree work lol. Ether get a good rope as high as you can and put pressure on it with a truck and cut it all the bottom or call a pro

    Everything TW members recommend
Check with your homeowners insurance. They might cover the cost of professional tree removal since the tree may fall onto the neighbors house and your homeowners insurance might have to cover the repair of the house. They’ll likely choose to avoid the higher cost of home repair.

If you take it down yourself, and it causes damage to the neighbors house, then they might not cover the cost of the home repair due to negligence your part.

Last time I dealt with storm damage and downed trees it was all considered act of God. So your tree falls on neighbors house, the neighbor deals with it.
Be interesting to see how insurance would deal with Jim's situation if the top decided to come down and was able to hit the house. Negligence would probably be a word that would get tossed around

So my weekend get away got spoiled quick. Got to camp Friday around 4pm brought my dad to the hospital at 1130pm he tripped and filleted his forearm. 20 stitches later. I'd post the picture but don't want to ruin anyone's dinner
