Lots of good info here . Have not seen anything about undercoating . Ziebart wants $600 for the whole shebang. I'm 61 years old and plan on having this thing till I croak. Any thoughts?

I undercoated my 2017 right when I pulled away from the lot. I went to Ziebart's. I got 2 quotes....$250 for 1 coat or $300 for 3 coats which they said also gave it soundproofing. I chose the $300. Don't know what Ziebart you are going to....I thought they were a national chain company.....different prices for different places ? Anyways, i thought and was told by toyota dealer that it was overkill but i'm just like you.....my tacoma will outlast me.....I already gave my wife instructions on what to do with it if I go before her. I defintely noticed a difference in the sound from the road is a lot less.

I think I paid about $500 for mine and I get it touched up yearly. Make sure they shoot it in the doors, tailgate and body.

Ziebart is good, but I chose not to do it because you pay the initial fee but you are required each year to go back and pay for an annual "cleaning and respray" which i didn't think was completely necessary but they will only honor the warranty as long as you keep doing that. So i did a little research and it seems many members here use fluid film which is a spray that can be bought at a B&M store like Lowes. Its $10 a can and I do it twice a year in the late fall before winter and then again in the spring/summer. Super easy to spray and reapply. Kinda stinky but i just park it on the street for a couple days and its fine after that.

But, like you said, you are 61 so I'm not sure how proactive you plan on being with your tacoma, if you even plan on getting your hands dirty or just want someone to take care of it for you. If the latter, I suggest Ziebart.
