Hey guys, have a 1st gen double cab in the shop now that I'm doing a custom over canopy rack setup on and would like to see if there would be enough interest to make this a production rack?
The production rack would be about $$1090 for the bed rack, $650 for the cab rack and $800 for the accessory door set.
    This includes powder coating.
I would have a long and short bed version of the bed racks but not sure if I would do an extended cab rack. The cab rack would need rails installed to the roof. IMG_1294.jpg

Sweet. I was hoping some of your stuff was going to trickle down to us first gens. Put me on the list for at least the cab rack. Busted the back window on my cap and it can't be replaced, so I may be looking for a soft top.

Will get more pics as we make more progress, still in the beginning stages.
Mainly just trying to see if it worth the time in fine tuning every little detail for a production rack or if this will be a one off.

    Ben,
The bed rack is just for softtops, correct?

Should fit some hard shells as well.
This customer is going to try and install his hard shell.

That makes things interesting. My soon-to-be-replaced cap is the Leer 100XQ. It has a bit of an arch front to back. If I replace it with another fiberglass shell, it will have a flat roof.

Softopper's are about about 2" wider on each of the sides than the cab. No idea about bestops... And are's match the cab.

Not enough to have a build thread.
I have an access cab so I dont think this setup would work for me, but if you made a rack for a hard shell or one that mounted to the bed and went out and around the shell to accommodate more weight, I'd be interested

:gossip: It's designed to go over the shell and mount to the bed.

Are you sure the softtopper is 2" wider on each side? with how they mount I can't see how it would be possible to be 2" wider on each side. I know on the 3rd and second gen the softtopper is considerably narrower than the cab.

Positive. They start spreading out about 3/5ths above the bed top.

2nd gens use the exact same softopper. And they're what? An 8" wider truck?

    They look pretty flush.
If the second gen is the same topper than it will fit. This bed rack is the same width as my 3rd and second gen racks.

I've owned two softoppers on my 1st gen btw. Trust me. They sit pride over the sides of the cab.

I'd like to see an extra cab roof rack for sure!
