How are you cleaning them? Soap? Just lay them in the sun to get warm, then hose them off. I don't clean mine very often, just a wire brushing. 500f will do the rest.

Flanges. Pressure vessel. Gaskets. Bolts. We've seen this movie before walk toward the light....

Instant Pot with smoke. But looks like a maintenance and cleanup nightmare. Still very intriguing though!

Love it. Thermoworks is head and shoulders above others IMO. The smoke replaced an early Maverick that is still kicking but moved it to monitor the dog crate temps in the back of my truck. Wish the remote had a stand. I have the wifi gateway for it but still in the box don't really need it but picked it up when it was 25% off a while back. The base unit has a stand and magnetic attachment. A few people have attached it to the grill with the magnet while cooking and of course melted it and then complained about it o_O I set my base unit on a table or if using the JJ inside of the kettle attach it to the rotisserie support arm which stands off from the kettle.

I really don't think you will regret getting it. And they offer a lot of different probes in various lengths.

Heat, and iron is in there to some percentage. Add moisture at some point = rust. And if Weber has a weak link it is their grates they are worst of all. At least the nickle coated ones are. Which is why I replace all mine with 304 stainless steel when the OEM ones wear out. Can buy a lot of cheap nickle plated steel ones for the price however I get tired of scrubbing rust off.

Maybe we can work something out. I could add it to my order to get it with my discount code (not sure the size of it, yet), then I'll ship it to you. If the discount is decent enough, even you paying the shipping from me to you makes it worthwhile. If I end up getting nothing, I'll just shoot you my code.

    Just a thought.

Bought me an 8in chefs knife when they used to do Costco roadshows. Decent little knife....IMHO the edge doesn't seem to hold up that well.....:notsure: Could be user error....:anonymous:

Just seems to need more upkeep than other knives. They do have a lifetime warranty I believe.

Good deal! Thanks for the feedback.

I have a Mercer slicer right now that is decent for holding an edge. It's getting a tad worn and I can't sharpen for squat. I probably ought to get that down before just buying other knives .

Using a Sharp Pebble two-stage sharpening stone. After about an hour with a knife, I can get it kind of sharp. Doesn't seem like I'm getting the return for my effort that I should, but I'm too tired to spend time learning a new skill :anonymous:.

Thanks. Let me know what you end up doing. I’ll be out camping for a few days, and will check back Friday.

Apex pro sharpening system. I can make a butter knife shave in less than a hour. Wouldn’t hold that edge for very long, but very easy to lay down the perfect edge.

Never thought about smoking coffee beans. Definitely curious to see how it turns out for you.

I have a Thermopop and it works great. I had a Maverick remote thermometer but lost the transmitter. I just couldn't spend another $60 on a replacement, so I went with a cheap version. In my opinion it's better and easier to use than the Maverick, at 1/2 the cost.

Our fantasy draft party is Sunday. I volunteered for meat... Cause any excuse to run the pit is worth the $. Well... Everyone else is bringing sides. They should be chipping in for a bottle of Jack for me

Good luck, I’m sure you’ll kill it.

This gets me mad. First, I pay more for a select grade brisket. Second, my Costco still does not have full packers, or prime.

Lastly, we are delaying our camping trip one night as they are calling for some bad weather tonight.

Thanks. Hoping so. Your Costco sucks...:deadhorse: You need to go in there and see who runs that place and let em know what's up :D

I'm still trying to source a better place online to see if I can order by the box for a cheaper price but no luck so far. I'll let you know if I find something.

SRF, but I don’t know if I want to spend that kind of money for brisket. The only other place around here for prime would be restaurant depot.
