Hooked up a 12 in sub and amp. Everything is wired right and works great, about 90% of the time. The other 10 is that when im driving, the bass randomly stops. If I turn the volume up ( to like 40 of the 60 max) the bass returns and works fine again. Once it goes away and I just keep driving, not do anything, it will eventually come back on it's own 17 taco double cab

check your connections. Most of the time people dont find a good ground connection for the sub amp and that will cause it to cut out on you.

Also do you notice if there is a specific event that causes the sub to go out?

Is the gain on your amp set properly or did you just turn it up to a point that you were happy? If not properly set the amp will go into protection mode and cut itself off to prevent damage.

Connections are solid. Grounded under the driver seat. There is a factory ground there where the seats ground. Put it there and it's nice and tight. Gain is good, bad it set at a car audio shop since I didn't have the tools needed.

Make sure the amp isn't occasionally throwing a DC voltage like my PDX still is. If its throwing DC, the speaker will fully push out (or pull in), then stay there and cook the voice coil. It'll sound like a loud bump noise, without music, if you aren't able to see it. If its doing this, make sure so shut the stereo off immediately and get the amp fixed.

No loud thump when nothing is playing. Only thump I head is when I turn car off and the amp turns off. Support said it because it's a smart turn on amp.

Check your gain and make sure it is not wide open. I have seen car audio shops just turn it wide open and let the vehicle go cause the owner would never know the difference.
Try turning it down a little.

Make sure the amp is not going into protection when the audio cuts out.
