So, you got the "Real" ID? You had all the proper documents they required? When I got my renewal in the mail, I said f it, and just went for the DL, only.

 

You’ll regret that if you go to buy ammo soon.

I’m having to a get a REALID to access the base for work.

Anything that gives the opportunity to tell you no, they will do so. The “Federal Limits Apply” ID sucks.

 

Yeah. I didn’t realize it was extra effort. I googled it and it said bring a passport, SS card and a bill with my current address. Which is what I thought I needed for a DL.

I did notice the DMV is extra busy because of it right now and people were complaining they couldn’t renew in the mail because of it. I wasn’t really aware of the real ID until today or at least not how much of a pain it is to people.

 

Retired military, so I have my Military ID. Also, have a federal Transportation Workers Identification Card, TWIC, for work so I can get on refineries, airports, and harbors. Have a Global Entry card for returning to the US from International Travel, issued by Border Patrol/Homeland Security. I think TWIC is also issued by Homeland Security. TWIC and Global Entry are chipped, so figuring that will be sufficient. I hope.

 

When you do your fed id I had to do over because of not matching my drivers license

 

Yeah man every night it gets super bad down here, and when I leave for work in the morning it looks like the whole area is engulfed in fog, it’s just smoke.
