I got the tsb applied at Manhattan Beach, service advisor was hesitant but I got to go on a test drive with the tech and he applied it after no real "symptoms"

Toyota of Glendale applied the 0058. They agreed with the “symptoms” of the vehicle and applied the update.

I bought my truck in January. 18’ OR. I don’t seem to have the stumble. Or how would I check for that?

From a complete stop, hit the gas fairly hard or stiff if you will. your truck will surge, pause while it hunts for a gear for a second or two, then rev to high rpms to get up to speed and then start settling down. Tell your dealer that from a stop, you hit the gas and your truck will surge/pause/rev high rpms before it actually gets going. After the TSB is done, when you hit the gas, your truck will shove you into the back of your seat immediately like it should, so make sure you're prepared when you test the TSB when it's done.

Called them up and they told me they didn’t see any recal for my vehicle but to bring it in. It lags but not much of a surge. But it definitely doesn’t throw me in the seat. We’ll see tomorrow.

Recalls and TSBs are two different things. This TSB in PDF form is posted several times in this thread, print it out and take it with you.

They aren't intended for customers to supply and demand to be completed. Toyota doesn't want warranty work to be performed simply because everyone is doing it. (All manufacturers)

If you want the TSB to be performed, make sure you complaint is as exactly described in the TSB. This way the dealership and Toyota is happy, and you get what you want.

So describe as the TSB says. "It delays on the highway" "It surges" etc.. You'll be fine.

I'm going to test this today, but based on dealers not being able to "reproduce symptoms", does it happen every time? I honestly don't know if I've ever hammered down on the throttle like that since I've had it, but I'll give it a shot.

Well DCH Toyota of Torrance did it. Just told them “stumble”, “Surge”, and “standstill throttle” and they did it. Took them all of three effing’ hours but they did it. It’s not throw you on your seat instant response. But it’s smoother, stays in the revs longer, and shifts way better. Drops a gear, pulls longer and smoothly shifts out of it. Overall I like it.

A friend took his to Temecula and they stated that they couldn't replicate the stumble, so I'm sending him this thread and to a different dealership for the TSB.

I noticed that it even improved when you’re rolling at a slow speed not just from a dead stop
