I’m planning to wheel as many days/trails as I can coming up 8/22-8/26 while I am between jobs. Some trails I have in mind (in no particular order) are:

    Twin Cone
    MSV/Coney Flats
    Wheeler Lake
    T33 Plane Crash
    Red Elephant Hill

Since these trails are moderate+ in difficulty I would prefer to not do them alone. Let me know if anyone is interested in running any of these on any of those days. I’m open to other trails as well, just trying to get out to some of the trails I haven’t run before. I’m sure I’ll add more to the list in the next few days.

I have the 24th off and could go out then, haven't done Twin Cone or Red Elephant yet.

Just an FYI- parts of Wheeler Lake make SOB Hill/ Red Cone entry obstacle look like a short drive on a smooth road. However, it also has an unsealed mine entrance you can climb up too.

My understanding was that all the hardest obstacles on Wheeler Lake have easier bypasses/lines you can take, but I guess I will have to look into it a bit more. Thanks for the heads up!

Nope the last stretch to lake is just a field of bigger than bowling balls rocks, but not that steep. The guardian obstacle is something else too, no easier line than what we took, I will look for pictures.

This is not the case, the only bypass I can think of was for a large V notch. Let me see if I have any pics

Yeah, and it's only about a lane width so it can be a PITA. When I ran it the dirt section immediately after the rock stretch leading up to the lake was really tricky too.

That said I ran it open/open on 31s with sliders and skids. Had some good spotting too from @Jefes Taco :)

I am not looking to bypass a bunch of stuff, in fact I am looking to challenge myself. The only things I am wanting to avoid are flopping and/or body damage. I am lifted, rear locked, on 33s with armor so I feel pretty prepared overall. The one major thing I am lacking is a winch and wheeling buddy which is why I have an open invite out there for anyone to come along.

Would it be inappropriate of me to ask if I can ride along with someone out/on those trails since my rig isn't armored yet? I want to get out more but bottlenecked by my truck.

FWIW there isn't really anything to winch off of on the rock garden nor the last hill up to the lake. It sounds like you have everything you will need, aside from good tire placement and throttle discipline :D

Youre welcome to ride with me anytime Im there and have a seat. The old lady doesnt usually go so I usually have an open seat. Unfortunately, I have concerts and stuff this weekend and wont be able to do any wheeling.

I have family in town so I won't be going wheeling on Saturday and possibly Sunday. I might be sick on Friday though :D
